The APAC Datacenter Engineering Senior Mechanical Engineer will be part of the team responsible for the development of Microsoft’s industry-leading datacenter designs.

This position is a Subject Matter Expert providing key input to other organizations and stakeholders. The successful candidate will be a professional mechanical engineer with extensive experience in datacenter mechanical engineering (HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Fuel Oil and BAS systems), design, construction, and operations. This individual will also review and coordinate the delivery of complex datacenter mechanical systems, associated controls, and overall topology.

The SME will be responsible for:

• Design decisions related to datacenter projects including new construction, expansions, retrofits and upgrades and standards upgrades in the APAC region.
• Detailed understanding of mission-critical datacenter HVAC cooling systems, cooling equipment selection, plumbing systems, fire protection systems, fuel systems and mechanical Building Automation System (BAS) controls.

Network Operations

1. Manages the set-up and coordination of TV transmission traffic in real time.

2. Acts as the first level support, and point of contact, for equipment, and the broadcast network.

3. Fully responsible for operating Eurovision's satellite, fibre and IP network.

4. Oversees the quality of transmission signals and reports to the Senior Network Operations Engineer.

5. Detect and correct any anomalies or faults in transmissions.

6. Allocates resources and services to customer on a short notice basis.

7. Reports faults/modifications on equipment in the Eurovision Control room, or at any important technical point across the network.

8. Takes the temporary measures required in order to ensure the continuity of service.

9. Ensure customer satisfaction, and have the appropriate behaviour in all situation.

10. Assures a consistent and high quality of service, through monitoring, and ensuring service integrity.

11. Enters real transmission times used for invoicing services.

12. Is responsible for capturing incident logs in the relevant operating system in order to follow up internally with support teams, and externally for customer reporting.

13. On night shifts maintains full responsibility for network traffic and can take all necessary measures to ensure continuity in the network.

Special Projects

1. Can participate in event projects to provide technical guidance, and engineering solutions.

2. Can be required to take part in outside missions; as a technical coordinator, engineer, and engineer in charge.

3. Upon Manager request other tasks can be added.

Working Conditions

1. Shift work from 0630 – 1430 and 1400 – 2200 hrs GMT+8.

2. Will be expected to work independently most of the time.

3. Will have to support head office, regional and international bureaus.
