What will you do:
- Direct responsibility for the organization's day-to-day sales and marketing activities, with assistance of key local (non-reporting) support functions including Medical, Regulatory, Supply Chain/Logistics & Finance; being responsible for achieving the company's short term and long term sales, profits, share, and growth objectives
- Develop and maintain a highly competent & competitive organization with respect to both its structure and personnel ensuring that qualified successors are available for key positions
- Manage the selection and training of senior staff. Establish lines of control and delegate responsibilities to staff.
Develop short and long-range objectives to increase the sales and profitability of the company
- Develop, implement and contribute to both the 5 year long term and the annual marketing plans and strategies. Do this with knowledge based campaigns and activities, derived from an understanding of the needs, wants and expectations of consumers & customers (locally & linked to Global strategy). These plans and strategies will build consumer loyalty, optimize brand performance and deliver appropriate return on investment in line with agreed sales targets.
- Develop contingency plans to anticipate the adverse impact of unforeseen events or circumstances
- Keep abreast of current business and economic policies that might affect the organization
- Control and monitor sales methods, key customer strategies.
- Maintain necessary contact with major suppliers, customers, industry associations and government representatives to achieve the objectives of the division.
- Ensuring all business activity complies with relevant Acts, legal demands and ethical standards.
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to sales management, sales representatives, brand managers and other marketing staff to ensure an effectively integrated and productive team.
- Effectively lead and manage staff, including setting objectives, rewarding and recognizing performance and training and developing expertise. Appraise the activities of staff according to overall sales and marketing strategies and in line with the process.
- Contribute to the SGMY Country Leadership Team, to develop and implement the company strategy, and deliver on financial, customer and leadership objectives.
Supervision:
In the first instance this role has management responsibility for a team of marketers and sales team in Malaysia
Key Communications:
- Direct team: Marketing, Sales force (Management, Professional Sales Representatives)
- Indirect (local) team: Medical,Regulatory Affairs – to provide input into regulatory decisions, Supply chain, Finance, HR, HH Country Leadership Team
- Regional team: Regional Vaccines Customer Business Line (CBL)
- External team: Agency partners (i.e., advertising, media, market research), Key customers and industry players , Industry groups, Societies, Advocacy Groups and Policy makers external to the organization
What should you have:
- 8-10 years' relevant industry experience in commercial development, sales and/or marketing, with proven experience of building brands to achieve over $50m in sustained revenue
- Sound understanding of the vaccines ecosystem with tangible proven experience of shaping solutions in partnership with others that have positively impacted the willingness and ability of people to get the vaccines they need
- Experience of leading people/teams to turnaround performance and achieve exceptional results
- Experience of launching novel products in challenging market conditions and delivering exceptional long term results
