Job Purpose

You will be a key member to contribute towards the growth and delivery of the Supply Chain Development & Analytics department. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of warehouse operations, and expertise in managing complex automation projects. Adaptability, problem-solving abilities, and a focus on continuous improvement are also essential for success in this role. You must also ensure that the supply chain is aligned with the FPG overall business objective and that is capable of meeting customer demand.

Responsibilities

• Develop a comprehensive strategy for warehouse automation aligned with the Supply Chain goals, considering the unique requirements of ambient and cold storage facilities.
• Identify, evaluate, and select appropriate automation technologies (e.g., robotics, multi-shuttle, AGV, sortation etc.) that optimize operations and align with the allocated budget.
• Lead and oversee the implementation of automation solutions across multiple warehouses, ensuring seamless integration, minimal disruption to operations, and adherence to timelines and budgets. And Identify potential risks associated with automation implementation and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and ensure business continuity.
• Work closely with various departments (operations, Tech, Finance, Industrial Engineer, Indirect Procurement) to gather requirements, and ensure alignment of automation solutions with overall business objectives. And ensure that all automation solutions comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols, maintaining a safe working environment for warehouse personnel and compliance with legal requirements.
• Establish metrics and KPIs to measure the performance of automated systems, continuously monitor operations, and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness. And develop training programs for warehouse staff to adapt to new automation systems and processes, facilitating a smooth transition and maximizing the benefits of automation.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in warehouse automation, fostering a culture of innovation and exploring opportunities for further enhancements.

• Minimum 5 years of direct experience working with warehouse automation technologies, such as robotics, automated storage systems, conveyor systems, WMS, and IoT devices, is highly valuable. Hands-on involvement in the implementation, maintenance, or optimization of automation systems in warehouse settings is particularly beneficial.
• Understanding of warehouse automation technologies and material handling equipment.
• Familiar with a wide range of warehouse automation technologies and their applications and have understanding of emerging trends and innovations in the field of warehouse automation.

• Overseeing cost management activities throughout the project lifecycle. This involves estimating costs, preparing budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring that the project stays within budget constraints.
• Conducting quantity take-offs from architectural and engineering drawings to determine the quantities of materials required for the project. This information is crucial for accurate cost estimation and procurement.
• Managing the tendering process by preparing and reviewing tender documents, evaluating bids from subcontractors and suppliers, and making recommendations for procurement decisions.
• Administering contracts between the client, main contractor, subcontractors, and suppliers. This includes drafting contract documents, negotiating terms and conditions, and managing variations and claims throughout the project.
• Identifying opportunities for value engineering to optimize costs without compromising quality. This involves analyzing alternative materials, methods, and designs to achieve cost savings.
• Assessing and managing project risks related to cost, time, and quality. This includes identifying potential risks, developing risk mitigation strategies, and monitoring risk throughout the project lifecycle.
• Preparing regular cost reports for project stakeholders, including clients, project managers, and senior management. These reports typically include budget vs. actual cost analysis, cash flow forecasts, and cost variance analysis.

• Manage suppliers, resolve discrepancies or quality issues on purchases
• Inventory management with workshop/storeman

Job Requirement:

• NTC/ Diploma preferably in Mechanical/Precision engineering
• Min. 2 years of experience preferably in Oil & Gas/engineering
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, SAP knowledge will be an added advantage
