We are seeking a dynamic Purchasing Coordinator to join our pre-opening team in Mandai Rainforest Resorts by Banyan Tree. As part of the pre-opening team, the incumbent will play a pivotal role in establishing and managing the procurement setup for the Resort.

The incumbent will be responsible for gathering requirements, sourcing of items, negotiating, issuance and tracking of orders, storage, issue, maintaining and accounting for food & beverage, general supplies and for maintaining cleanliness of the stores area as per company’s policies.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• To ensure the timely procurement of all goods required by the Resort at the best available price and quality.
• To review purchase requisitions considering issues such as lead times, standardization, quantity discounts and purchasing budgets.
• To assist department in the resort in formulating their material requirements and to use competitive bidding or other approved procedures to obtain the best price.
• To manage supplier relations for maximum mutual benefits.
• To ensure the implementation of purchasing policies and procedures.
• To check daily receiving and store keeping procedures to ensure they are being followed.
• To check goods to see they are received, issued, documented, stored and requisitioned as per company guidelines.
• Maintain E-filing of Requisition forms and Purchase orders, ensuring that they are properly filled up and acknowledged by the requesting party.
• Ensure price quotes in the procurement system are updated.
• Ensure that we always maintain stocks within our approved Par stock.
• Market List are updated with the stock of all daily items.
• Assist on month-end inventory when required.
• Any other ad-hoc tasks assigned by the Purchasing Manager.

Job Requirements

• Professional certificate in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, Economics or a related field.
• 1 to 2 years’ experience in a similar capacity, preferably in the hospitality industry. Pre-opening experience would be useful.
• Experience in vendor management and contract negotiation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimum supervision

Our client is an US MNC, one of the largest players in the life-science sector. Due to business needs, they are now recruiting for a Procurement Assistant to be part of their team for ongoing transformation projects.

This is a 1 year contract (Convertible) role. They are located at Buona Vista – Walking distance from the MRT station.

5 days work week - Monday to Friday (8.30 am to 5.30pm)

Training will be provided for Entry Level (structured training programs)

Duties

• Manage equipment maintenance tasks, including service contracts, reminders, and reports in SAP, and process invoices while liaising with vendors and users.
• Handle document filing, approvals, scanning, and month/year-end support for Procurement and Accounts teams.
• Maintain vendor database, ensuring accurate registration and account setup in SAP.
• Process purchase orders, verify requisitions, negotiate terms, and monitor order fulfillment within set timelines.
• Update price lists, coordinate with vendors, and respond to inquiries on order statuses or changes.

Requirements

• Possess minimally a Nitec/Diploma in Supply Chain
• Knowledge in SAP
• No experience needed - Training Provided (structured training programs)

Expected to use their specialized knowledge to maintain an efficient procurement system to supply cost effective materials and services to support the company’s operations.

Job Responsibilities

Procurement Operations and Data Maintenance

• Support the procurement end to end function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operations. Act as an interface between suppliers and relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects and activities.

• Maintain system integrity of supplier’s info in the ERP system, such as items suppliers connect, purchasing agreements and supplier basic data like MOQ, order multiple, purchasers responsible and supplier maintenance.

Sourcing

• Conduct business review meetings with key stakeholders to assess risk, review future strategies, and identify potential cost down, new programs and improvement opportunities or mitigate the risk.

• Create and review opportunities on alternative materials and or suppliers to meet the business unit objectives in procurement activities and deliver best values and business savings.

• Collaborating with quality team to understand company/s needs as well as work with our existing/new suppliers to determine company strategic alignment.

SNOP

• Understand the trend of raw material / feedstock related, update the information to commercial team, provide analysis on costs, new and cost savings activities. Develop strong partnership with suppliers.

• Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers, provide analysis on costs, new and existing and review cost to achieve savings. Establish r/s with suppliers to leverage the needs in term on tight supply situation as well as to be ahead of the market requirement.

• Contribute and communicate the impact on Procurement activities to new business initiatives and projects. Involve in Global procurement project activities.

Vendor Management

• Assess and evaluate supplier’s performance reviews, compiling data relating to supplier performance to enable evaluation.

• To audit supplier supply capability and quality standard when required. Maintain proper documentation in accordance with ISO procedures.

Job Requirements:

• Degree Holders with at least 5 years of working experience in end to end procurement related field in manufacturing environment

• At least 5 year(s) of working experience in related field preferably in petrochemical or polymers related industry

• Possess strong sourcing and negotiation skills.

• Accountable team worker, proactive, problem solving and analytical abilities.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work productively and collaboratively with multi-functional teams to achieve business goals.

• Candidates with good experience in petrochemical raw material commodity price trend analysis will be at advantage

• Familiar with SnOP process would be added point

• This position required to manage overseas vendor from China
