We are looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) engineer, who will be will be responsible for conducting tests before product launches to ensure software runs smoothly and meets client needs. The QA engineer responsibilities include designing and implementing tests, debugging and defining corrective actions. You will also review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics (e.g. defect densities and open defect counts.) The QA engineer role plays an important part in our company’s product development process.

Responsibilities

• Develop enhanced awareness with continual education of all AmSpec personnel on quality assurance principles and accreditation requirements.
• Conduct regular in-house training, briefing, meeting and feedback dialogue session etc.
• Work closely with Lab and Business Manager in providing advice & and guidance in ensuring the consistently conform to Quality Assurance procedures.
• Deputize for the Quality & HSE Manager, in his / her absence in liaising with SAC-SINGLAS on all matters related to accreditation or other quality related matters.
• Deputize, in his / her capacity, for QA Manager in all QA and calibration-related matters.
• Assist Chemists in identifying tests / equipment that requires SQC, gather necessary data, set up manual and electronic control chart. Monitor progress and ensure conformance.
• Assist and implement necessary corrective actions assigned from all audits.
• Brief staff and check reagents / equipment before witnessing of test takes place.
• Carry out internal and external calibrations and issue Certificate of Calibration based on the scope of accreditation.
• Undertake specific quality-related projects as directed by the QA and HSE Manager.

Requirements:

• Diploma / Degree in Science or at least 2-3 years’ experience working in a chemical, petroleum, or petrochemical laboratory.
• Have some experience in changing GC column would be an advantage.
• Ability to understand ASTM standards and procedures.
• Knowledge of quality assurance terminology, methods and tools.

1. EduTrust

· Spearhead the entire EduTrust certification and renewal process, ensuring successful preparation and coordination for site assessments.

· Provide clear guidance to process owners on meeting EduTrust requirements and maintaining alignment with Policy and Operations Manual (POM) standards.

· Act as the custodian of all controlled documents, ensuring timely updates and consistent document control, including Policy and Operations Manuals.

· Collaborate with process owners to review and enhance policies and SOPs, ensuring alignment with EduTrust criteria and operational effectiveness.

· Conduct thorough internal assessments as part of the QA team to monitor compliance and identify areas for continuous improvement.

· Analyse performance data, audit findings, and compliance trends to identify gaps and recommend improvements.

· Support the development of internal benchmarks and evaluate organisational performance against relevant industry and regulatory standards.

2. ERF

· Ensure timely and accurate submissions related to SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) registrations, including updates for Managers, Academic & Examination Board (AEB) members, courses, and premises.

· Coordinate the submission of PEI Annual Returns, ensuring completeness and adherence to regulatory deadlines.

· Assist in the preparation and execution of ERF renewal exercises to maintain compliance and secure re-certification.

· Maintain organised and up-to-date documentation, ensuring records are easily accessible and audit-ready.

Requirements:

• Minimum Diploma or Degree in a relevant field.
• At least three years of experience as a QA Manager in a Private Education Institution (PEI).
• Proven track record of having led at least one full EduTrust certification or renewal assessment.
• Strong understanding of EduTrust and ERF requirements, including compliance standards, internal assessments, and documentation practices.
• Ability to perform data analysis, interpret trends, and derive meaningful insights to support benchmarking and decision-making.

Job Summary

The QA / QC Lead reports to the Head of department to ensure that all product and components meet quality and safety standards or established internal procedures. Along with having a great deal of experience with external auditing and a firm grasp of laboratory machine operation, the QA/QC Lead is also in charge of document control, which includes maintaining correct and thorough quality and other documentation as assigned.

Job Role
