Overview

As a Maintenance Engineer (Senior / Assistant), you are responsible for maintaining and repairing the heavy machinery, plant equipment, tools and systems used in the manufacturing, engineering and other industrial production processes. You are to ensure that all machineries and equipment are in good working conditions as and when are needed.

Responsibilities

1. Manage, oversee and lead the Maintenance team to ensure minimum downtime of Facility, Machinery and Equipment.
2. Strategize on maintenance regime, maintenance supplies, work instruction and methods.
3. Create plant preventative maintenance procedures and schedules.
4. Conduct routine inspections and periodic maintenance checks on machines to keep them running smoothly.
5. Plan equipment upgrading and machinery modifications for improvement or prolong efficiency.
6. Plan, order, replenish, inventory keeping of machinery parts.
7. Analyze gaps to ensure programmes meets customers’ and company requirements.
8. Analyze breakdowns, diagnose faults and supervise time critical equipment repairs.
9. Offer technical expertise and necessary in-house training to Maintenance team, Operations team (i.e.: supervisor, foreman, fitters, technicians, etc.) and others.
10. Manage budget for current and future equipment upgrades, replacements and maintenances.
11. Resource, coach, mentor and motivate direct reports to create a high performing team.
12. Ensure the cause of non-conformities are properly investigated and analyzed all corrective and preventive actions taken are effective.
13. Responsible for control of maintenance cost, procurement of new components for existing equipment, or replacing the entire set of machines after a prescribed period of usage is complete.
14. Ensure all ISO documentations relating to Maintenance of plant machineries are up-to-date.
15. Report to Production Manager and Top Management on the performance of the quality management system including opportunities for improvements.
16. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Management and/or the designated manager.

Requirements

1. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with a minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in maintenance in an automation / equipment manufacturing environment. OR
2. Higher NITEC in Mechanical Engineering or related / Professional Certificate / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in maintenance in an automation / equipment manufacturing environment.
3. Able to multi-task, work independently, proactive with positive attitude.
4. Resilient, self-driven and analytical.
5. A strong problem solver with an eye for detail and an analytical mind.
6. Able to stand, stoop, squat and kneel for long periods of times, as well as lift, push and pull large machine parts or machines or machines as needed.

Training

19. Provides training for all employees on basic quality and statistical concepts

Job Requirements:

• Degree or equivalent experience in a field of study such as chemistry, business, accounting, engineering, etc.

• Certificate in Quality Engineering is preferred.

• Position requires 3-6 years of quality management experience.

• Good experience into customer & supplier audit and able to conduct training

• ISO 13845 experience will be added advantage.

• Demonstrates introductory understanding and ability and with guidance, applies competency in typical situations.

Dimension Controller

• Conducts dimensional checking using latest electronic total stations before and after welding of the main deck frame and main column of the modules to ensure that the dimensions are within specifications.
• Reviews design drawings, do necessary best fit calculations, prepare professional dimensional control reports using AutoCAD and get approval by the clients and/or certifying authority.
• Maintains dimensional survey equipment and keep proper documentation of dimensional control reports to meet project requirements and QA/QC audit standards.
• Gives guidance and advice to sub-contractors on how they can increase their productivity.
• Liaises with key stakeholders including Client on the dimensional control methods, acceptance criteria in accordance to project requirements.
• Prepares and compile final dimensional control survey reports as part of the final documentation report.

Electrical

• Takes charge of projects, coordinate and carry out all E& I QA/QC activities for the projects including hazardous zone equipment’s inspection (ATEX/CompEx/IECEx Certified).
• Review and evaluate the drawings as per Classification Societies and Client’s requirement.
• Prepares the QA procedures and get it approved with Classification Societies and Client.
• Witness the testing of HV/LV circuit breaker/starter, neutral earthing resister/fuses and cable megger-ing.
• Coordinates all termination inspection of electrical installation of equipment.
• Preparations of electrical or mechanical completion for equipment.
• Carries out the inspection and testing with Class Surveyors and Class Representatives.
• Ensures all quality control documents are compiled and information’s are handed over for as-build.
• Coordinates daily job activities and provide clear job instructions before delegating the jobs to subordinates.

• Witness prequalification of painting system, painter, blaster and adhesion testing subjected for project approval before commencement of painting activities.
• Coordinates in-coming coating materials (e.g. paints, thinners, abrasives etc) conditions, data sheet and batch certificates in accordance with project.
• Inspects correct type of blasting equipment and tools to be used to meet the paint quality according to the paint specification.
• Inspects pre-cleaning or solvent cleaning of surface, metal surface imperfection/defects, surface profile of blast cleaned surface using right inspection tools.
• Assesses surface cleanliness soluble salt contamination on blast-cleaned surface and related test such as pull-off test & reports.
• Able to handle painting inspections in blasting and painting inspection of tank coatings, ship hull painting, and structural items
• Coordinates Request for inspection (RFI) to third party and client paint inspectors on hold point and witness point as per project inspection test plan (ITP).
• ·Able to send enquiries to Paint manufacturers for Painting Specification in accordance with project Requirements and Secure Quality document for painting; Inspection & Test plan, blasting and coating procedure.
• Ensures calibration certificates of painting instruments are valid & available for reference
• Supervises the workplace and workers safety.
• Ensures coating is practical and in accordance with the specified requirements by preparing or reviewing drawings, specification, job instruction and material selection notes etc.
• Reviews Inspection Test Plan (ITP) as per project specification and procedures
• Coordinates and perform Coating inspection of structural, piping and outfit works etc. of the assigned project as per approved ITP.
• To monitor all painting/coating related works and ensure all final products meet project specification requirement.
• Conducts surveillance inspection of surface preparation, paint mixing, WFT, DFT adhesion and curing of paints.
• Coordinates with yard QA/QC team for all quality documentation submission to SCM with the construction completion.
• Conducts onsite audit as per relevant specification and customer requirement.

Structural

• Takes charge of project and carry out all QA functions for the assigned project.
• Prepares list of daily job activities and provide clear job instructions before delegating the jobs to subordinates.
• Supervises job coordination, monitor conformity towards quality, environmental and safety management system policies and procedure.
• Monitors and ensure all piping works are carried out according to the latest revision piping drawing and complies with contract specification, class requirements and quality management system.
• Coordinates all the inspections and testing with customer representative and / or classification surveyor as per the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
• Materials verification done with the specified mill certificates and codes;
• PMI testing on incoming, welder material;
• Verifies material use on sites are approved project materials;
• Familiarizes with piping inspection process;
• Verifies NDT are done as per approved NDT plan & procedures.
• Monitors the progress of work and report the status of completion of the official inspections such as accepted, rejected, postponed or cancelled to the respective project manager.
• Ensures project documents including inspection, traceability records, certificates, radiography films, and NDT reports are submitted to relevant party to signing.
• Checks and endorse inspection record prior to issue to customers.

• Initiate Project’s Kick off meeting with the selected subcontractor and coordinating with selected subcontractors to ensure they are in line with company or project strategies and planning. Discussing and clarifying the detail of scope of work, execution plan, commercial issue and technical issue to minimize potential future conflict.
• Carry out constructability studies, construction activities planning and execution plan for the job.
• Coordinating with all engineering disciplines to ensure design, cost and client’s requirement can be achieved.
• Handling of issued drawings or field change sheet to ensure latest drawings to be applied.
• Work closely with the team member and subcontractor to prepare all the MSRA required for the project.
• Working closely with scheduler, subcontractors and clients to plan ahead and schedule critical work paths in order to avoid delays or obstructions on mechanical completion.
• Day to day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the work progress, site labour force and any work of subcontractors.
• Overseeing quality control and health and safety matters on site.
• Maintain knowledge on all contract terms and legal requirements for project to avoid any delay in projects.
• Identify and resolve all technical issues in Construction process.
• Liaising with clients and company project team, including attending regular meeting and submitting reports to keep them informed of progress and construction issues.
• Liaising with any vendors, consultant, supervisors, subcontractors and the general workforce involved in the project.
• Assist the JGCAP’s Site In-charge/ Project Manager to monitor and manage the overall construction cost, including subcontractors’ progress billing, construction expenses and cost of variation order.
• Prepare and submit the weekly and monthly progress/construction reports to management.

Education Qualifications & Other Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Over 3 years’ relevant experience in construction management field.
• Experience in oil and gas or chemical projects.
• Knowledge in construction planning.
• Knowledge and experience in sub-contracting work.
• Proficient in MS Office, MS Powerpoint and schedule reporting.
• Clear awareness of construction management tools and method of execution.
• Familiar with Construction Practices.

• Managing the testing and commissioning of water and wastewater onshore and offshore facilities (FPSO and etc).

Requirements

• Travel to offshore project sites and perform offshore commissioning / assist facility startup
• Those with relevant project management / plant testing & commissioning experience will be an added advantage
• Proficient in MS Office and Microsoft Project
