Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent recognized by the Professional Engineers Board.
• At least 5 years of relevant working experience in plant maintenance from the Power or Oil and Gas industries.
• Sound Mechanical engineering maintenance knowledge. Good knowledge of safety and statutory requirement will be an advantage.
• Self-motivated team player with analytical mind, strong planning and problem solving skills.
• Have a safety mindset and display good workplace safety behavior.
• Be a part of the CERT team and be actively involved in emergency responses whenever called upon.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections of parts and products as assigned by the engineer, ensuring compliance with quality standards and specifications.
• Conduct minor reworks and repairs, such as rotary grinding or sanding, on non-conforming parts as directed by engineers.
• Carry out the rubbing process to remove anodic coating on three faces of parts, adhering to the drawing specifications and workmanship standards.
• Perform hot and cold processes for bushing insertion on parts, ensuring alignment with drawing specifications and workmanship standards.
• Execute honing processes to achieve precise diameters on parts, in accordance with drawing specifications and workmanship standards.
• Generate non-conformance reports using PowerPoint and promptly report findings to the respective engineers.
• Ensure timely communication and follow-up on defects.
• Ensure products and processes comply with relevant standards, regulations, and company quality requirements.

• Minimum Higher Nitec in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of hands-on QC experience, preferably in a manufacturing or workshop environment.
• Proficient in interpreting mechanical drawings.
• Familiarity with QC tools and equipment, including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and various testing instruments.
• Proficiency in using QC software, Outlook email, and data management tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct sensory evaluations, along with chemical and microbiological tests, on both products and raw materials.
• Understand and implement sampling plans, conducting sampling of raw materials and products as required.
• Prepare laboratory culture media and reagents as needed.
• Prepare product samples upon customer request or for internal/external laboratory testing.
• Accurately document all necessary information on the provided inspection forms and master list.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory and its equipment.
• Notify the QC Head of Department (HOD) about lab inventory levels to ensure timely procurement of necessary items and equipment for analysis.
• Report any non-conformities in raw materials and products to the HOD.
• Store retained raw material samples according to production dates for future reference in case of customer quality disputes.
• Participate in company-wide activities and tasks as required.
