Job Description
· Quality Control
oConduct daily coffee tasting, record the findings and report to Head of Coffee
o Inspect and test raw materials, in-process items and finished products to ensure they meet required specifications
o Conduct routine checks to identify defects, inconsistencies or deviations from quality standard
o Conduct sensory evaluations to assess and document flavour profiles, ensuring that new and existing products meet quality standards
· Quality Assurance
o Monitor and interpret laws, regulations and industry standards to ensure organizational compliance
o Stay updated on changes in relevant legislation and assess the impact on organizational policies
o Conduct regular compliance audits and assessments to evaluate adherence to policies and regulatory requirements
o Identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks
· Research and Development
o Investigate various coffee bean varieties, processing techniques and brewing methods to identify opportunities for product innovation and improvement
o Create new coffee blends and products that meet market demands and consumer preferences
o Stay informed about industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies in coffee research to inform product development strategies
o Analyse current product lines and formulate strategies to enhance flavour, quality, and presentation based on consumer feedback and market research
· Customer Interaction
o Present research findings and new product developments to customers, gathering valuable feedback to inform future product enhancements
· Cross-Department Collaboration
o Work closely with marketing, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure successful product launches and alignment with business goals
· Training and Support
o Provide training and support to sales and marketing teams on new products, emphasizing key features and customer benefits
· Documentation
o Maintain thorough documentation of research findings, product formulations, and sensory evaluations for reference and compliance purposes
· Additional Duties
o Provide administrative support and perform any other ad hoc duties as assigned by management
Requirement
- Minimum 3 year of experience in coffee research and product development
- Experience in food & beverage industry is preferred
- Strong knowledge of coffee processing and sensory analysis
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and educate customers effectively
- Proficiency in data analysis and research methodologies
