Role Scope:
Develop, implement, monitor, and improve Alcon quality standards across APAC affiliates and distribution locations. The role will ensure operational processes align with Alcon quality requirements and regulatory specifications. The role also includes supervising regional quality teams, inspecting and evaluating the performance of on-going projects, and facilitating training sessions to improve product quality and mitigate quality-related issues.
Major Accountabilities
· Develop and improve Quality Management System (QMS) in the APAC region.
· Align and implement Global Quality management strategies with the Business Strategies for the region.
· Monitor, coordinate, and manage regional quality teams to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements / specifications. Identify preventive programs to mitigate potential risk / non-compliance.
· CAPA Leader for the region, synthesize CAPA and audit findings to identify compliance and business risk, and work with region to develop improvement plans.
· Conduct and organize / support QMS internal and external audits and ensure close out of all the inspection and audit non-conformities.
· Participate in Corporate audit where requires in APAC and follow up on closure of findings.
· Coordinate, communicate and report status on escalation and/or market actions from the region. Drive resolution or concerns from the region with global teams.
· Organize, analyze, coordinate and report on quality metrics to APAC and global management team.
· Lead, drive and implement Lean Six Sigma program in region.
· Provide and organize training on quality matters from time to time.
· Participate, coordinate, and monitor budget and costing for the region.
· Manage and coordinate schedules, appointments, and travel arrangement for APAC QRA leadership team.
· Overseas travel is required for the role (i.e. 20% of travel is involve)
Education: Bachelor’s degree and above. Preferably in Engineering or Scientific field
Experience/Knowledge/Skill:
- Minimum 5 years practical experience in regulated industry in medical devices and supplier quality auditing with 3rd party management in a large multinational medical device or pharma company.
- Influence and drive results from the region QA managers with no direct reporting lines
- Able to work independently and able to perform in an environment with some degree of complexity and ambiguity
- Attention to details and rigor, to be able to run QA operation and project planning and execution
- Fluent in English, competency in computer literacy including Microsoft suite applications.
