Job Summary

· Senior/Principal Civil and Structural (C&S) Engineer is an exciting role that offers candidates opportunities in SJ Global Energy’s business unit covering C&S design work for various projects such as CCGT power plants, renewable, clean energy projects and typical land infrastructure for terminaling projects.

Responsibilities:

· Perform feasibility study, concept design, front end engineering design (FEED) and detailed designs for civil & structural (C&S) works in industrial/energy related projects. The C&S design will cover foundation, substructure for storage tanks, pipe racks/sleepers/bridge, equipment plinths/foundation, underground pipeline culvert, drainage, sewerage, road infrastructures, superstructures for low-rise buildings/structures, etc.

· Experience in power plant projects would be an added advantage

· Prepare C&S material take-off (MTO) for cost estimates

· Prepare C&S tender specifications, and project requirements, carry out the tender evaluation, etc. for C&S works

· Conduct presentation for concept, FEED and detailed designs to clients and stakeholders

· Project management

· Carry out authorities’ pre-consultation, submissions and liaison with authorities for necessary approvals

Requirements:

· Preferably, honour degree in C&S Engineering from a recognised university and with at least 5 years of detailed design experience in civil & structural engineering projects.

· Conversant in geotechnical engineering design

· Experience in marine facilities’ design would be an added advantage.

· At least 5 years of relevant working experience in the design of concrete and steel structures, drainage, sewerage and road works infrastructures

· Candidate with more than 15 years of relevant experience will be considered for a higher position

· Conversant in Eurocodes, BS Codes, NFPA, API

· Conversant with local authorities’ requirements and submission

· Able to perform a feasibility study, conceptual, FEED and detailed design using commercial software, excel spreadsheet, etc.

· Able to project manage assigned projects independently and possess strong presentation, communication and report writing skills

· Good spoken and written English

· Fluency in spoken and written Chinese would be an advantage

· Able to travel for overseas projects at short notice

Job Description:

• Assist project manager in planning and execution of project plans at construction site
• Execute project plan and ensure works completed as per schedule and in accordance to contract specification and design drawing
• Ensure construction site fullfill authority's code of practice and comply with safety house rules.
• Handle correspondance job paperwork and submission
• Liaise with all parties involved in the project including local authorities, consultants, clients, subcontractors and suppliers
• Attend site meetings and inspections, report regularly on progress and monitor schedule
• Prepare and monitor work schedules, project costing, procurement, and coordination with all partied involved to ensure work progress smoothly and completed within target time and budget
• Supervise and report progress of the work to Project Manager
• Ensuring project progress are on schedule and to meet the timeline given
• Make sure having the latest construction drawings on-site and work is constructed as per drawing given.
• Update drawing if there is any revision and to keep a updates copy in site office and head office
• Feedback to Project Manager on any issue encounter on site and proposed feasible solution.
• Any other adhoc duties assigned by Project Manager
