Role Purpose
This role will accelerate the positive impact of the Procurement department in line with company strategic objectives. This includes driving operational excellence in process, policy, compliance, spend visibility, analytics and reporting. The role also manages the complete Procure-to-Pay process and operations, including oversight of the Procurement team delivery in our nominated shared services centre.
Role Accountabilities
Operation Excellence
• Contribute to the setting, driving and implementation of global procurement standards and best practices.
• Align and drive performance of Procurement function.
• Manage and deliver procurement specific projects, such as relating to Sustainable Procurement.
• Assist with the overall development and delivery of a procurement strategy.
• Deliver analytics to support the needs of category management. More broadly, ensure the Procurement department has the strongest analytics capability at its disposal.
• Manage shared services centre team performance by setting specific KPIs, facilitating regular communication, supporting improvement activities, and leveraging performance analytics to improve productivity and engagement.
Business Partnering / Stakeholder Management
• Develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships and be a credible business partner.
• Work with the business to understand spend, risk profile, requirements and process.
• Strengthen the credibility of the procurement team to be able to influence procurement decisions and outcomes.
• Manage key stakeholders for collaboration and implementation of key initiatives.
Compliance
• Assist with the development of practical processes and policies.
• Subject matter expert of compliance procedures and procurement systems.
• Represent Procurement in various internal and external audits and implement improvements if any.
Procure-to-Pay (P2P) Process
• Lead efforts to improve the end-to-end P2P process, from requisitioning to payment.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify bottlenecks, eliminate redundancies, and enhance workflow efficiency.
• Implement automation and digital tools to expedite procurement transactions.
People Management
• Lead employees to meet the organisation's expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment.
• Provide oversight and direction to the employees in the team in accordance with the organisation's policies and procedures.
• Coach, mentor and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities.
• Consciously create an engaging workplace culture that emphasizes the identified mission, vision, guiding principles, and values of the organisation.
• Lead employees using a performance management and development process including goal setting, feedback, and performance development planning.
• Empower employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals. Delegate responsibility, drive accountability and provide regular feedback for continuous improvement.
• Manage and maintain effective employee work schedules including assignments, job rotation, training, vacations and paid time off, cover for absenteeism, and overtime scheduling.
• Maintain two-way transparent communication. Appropriately communicate organization information through department meetings, one-on-one meetings, and appropriate email, IM, and regular interpersonal communication.
• Deliver key people related activities in conjunction with the People Division that will lead to the enhanced engagement and retention of team members.

Key Qualifications & Skills
Qualifications
• CIPS Qualification desirable
• Master's degree within relevant field (MBA, MSc, MEng)
Technical Skills
• 5-7 years of Procurement experience
• Experience within supply chain management and shipping
• Experience with procurement software and analytics tools
• Solid understanding of P2P processes and best practices
