We are seeking a skilled and experienced Marine NavCom Service Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of hands-on experience in the installation, troubleshooting, and servicing of a wide range of marine navigation and communication systems, including but not limited to MARINE RADAR systems, chartplotters, ECDIS, AIS, VDR, VHF radios, MF/HF SSB, autopilots, and maritime IT equipment. Job Description:

You will participate in the specification, design and design maintenance of high-tech mechanic system solutions for professional mechatronic equipment, and enable optimal functionality and cost effective engineering of those systems. You are a highly talented and ambitious engineer with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering. VDL offers a dynamic working environment with opportunities to travel abroad. You will participate in the following phases for system (re)design projects:

• Quotation Phase: create a plan with scope, cost and lead time estimation together with the project team and the customer
• Feasibility phase: consolidate customer requirement specifications into an investigation of the feasibility of mechanical concepts
• Definition Phase: develop Description of System Design Requirements and Specifications
• System Design Phase: generation of system design concepts and reviews

1. Develop well-considered choices, validated against system requirements
2. Definition of high level modules and related technical interfaces
3. Monitor that projects stay within agreed specifications.
4. Make use of your creativity and helicopter view to find solutions in case of conflicts.

• Detail Phase: create 3-D models and drawings

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferably with a focus on construction / precision mechanics
• Knowledge of mechanic design principles, accurate positioning, dynamic behavior, material properties, strength and stiffness
• User of 3D design tools (e.g. NX or SolidWorks)
• User of product lifecycle management systems (e.g. TeamCenter or EPDM)
• Basic knowledge of FEA calculations in the area of mechanical design

• Support the development of advanced VR/AR systems to enhance research. This position focuses on developing Unity-based applications, designing and integrating virtual environments with real-time tracking data for immersive visualization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Join the team to development of advanced VR/AR systems:
• Develop Unity-based applications for dynamic visualization and seamless user interaction.
• Design and implement immersive VR environments.
• Create and enhance high-resolution 3D models of animal and terrains, adding articulated joints for realistic movement and animation of animal model.
