What you'll do:
As an IT Engineer (e-FX) [Contract], you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining applications utilised by users in the Financial Market. Your daily responsibilities will encompass adhering to secure coding guidelines, rectifying bugs and defects in custom developed application software, implementing change requests, managing data inconsistencies, executing patches, and working directly with end users. You will also manage cloud capabilities including monitoring, software updating, and product line management. Your commitment to continuous learning and improvement will propel your success in this role.
- Adhere to best practice secure coding guidelines such as OWASP
- Rectify bugs, defects, and functional non-conformities in custom developed application software
- Implement change requests for small to medium functional modifications or enhancements to Legacy Applications
- Rectify new and existing errors and inconsistencies with data stored in underlying data repositories linked to Legacy Applications
- Execute patches and proactive remediation for Legacy Applications
- Work directly with end users to create effective solutions
- Manage cloud capabilities including monitoring, software updating, and product line management
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this IT Engineer (e-FX) [Contract] role brings a wealth of experience from similar roles or environments. With a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent, you have spent at least 3 years honing your skills in IT engineering. Your experience with Electronic FX platforms sets you apart, as does your understanding of trade analytics tools like KDB+ and Mosaic. Your expertise spans across various technologies within the IT operations landscape. You are known for your excellent analytical and problem-solving skills which enable you to thrive under pressure. Your strong communication skills allow you to work effectively both independently and within a team. An understanding of agile methodologies and IT Risk & Security concepts will be advantageous in this role.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role or environment
- Experience with working on Electronic FX platform with FX domain appreciation
- Beneficial to have experience in trade analytics (KDB+, Mosaic)
- Expertise in broad technologies in the IT operation landscape
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure
- Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and within a team
- Understanding of agile methodologies
- Experience or affinity with IT Risk & Security concepts
