The incumbent will be the head of BU for planning of strategy for expansion of marine machinery’s sales in newbuilding and after sales services as a regional hub for Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Marine Machinery & Equipment Co., Ltd (MHI-MME). He/she will also function as intelligence for new market, e.g. offshore business, change of ship’s fuel to new generation ones, solution for environmental regulation, policy for shipping in Singapore or Asia Pacific region, etc.
Job responsibilities
Expansion of sales
· Planning of strategy
· Planning and execution of various seminars in Southeast Asia region
· Promotion of solutions and parts for marine machinery, including boilers, turbines, turbo-chargers, steering gears, propellers, and deck crane machinery.
· Contact point for sales & business development in the market of various clients such as shipping management company, shipping operator company, shipyard, offshore etc. in Southeast Asia
· Development of authorized agent for MHI-MME Maine Machinery in Southeast Asia region
Regional representative for marine machinery
· Contact point of various inquiries from customers in Southeast Asia region.
· Information gathering & reporting for new ship building and after-sales services from customer, shipyard and agent in Southeast Asia region
· Transfer of information and proposal to headquarters in Japan
· Support of visitors from MHI-MME in Japan
Sales and technical services support
· Initial support by telecommunication, e-mail and face to face basis to various inquiries of commercial and technical matter from customers.
· Transfer of inquiries to MHI-MME in Japan and other Mitsubishi group company.
Intelligence for new market
· Information gathering for new market, e.g. offshore business, change of ship’s fuel to new generation ones, solution for environmental regulation, policy for shipping in Singapore or Asia Pacific region, etc.
· Investigate, plan, review and propose new sales formats for business expansion to internal stakeholders.
Requirements
· Bachelor or Master of engineering or economics.
· A minimum of 10 years working experience handling a wide range of sales and sales management with specific experience in marine machinery market, shipping company, shipyard, offshore etc.
· Excellent Japanese Language skills (JLPT N1 or equivalent level) in both business writings & speaking to coordinate & communicate precise information with Japanese stakeholders in the APAC region / counterparts in Japan HQ.
· Broad and deeply knowledge of products handled by MHI-MME, marine boilers, turbines, turbochargers, steering equipment, and deck cranes etc.
· Broad and deeply knowledge relating to market & business & constructure of the Shipping industries with wide connection in the industries.
· Good knowledge of commercial / contract and related laws
· Planning and Negotiation Skills
· Knowledge in security Trade control
· Effective communication skills (written and spoken) to interface with parties both inside and outside the organization, overseas and Japanese bases and Mitsubishi group companies such as Mitsubishi Shipbuilding.
· Able to travel overseas frequently
