Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

This role will be responsible for our Product Application Lab for Semiconductor applications. Working closely with the Sales team and global technical resources, the selected candidate will support the development and growth of Semiconductor industry products in the region, focused on Southeast Asia. The initial focus will be on Strip, Etch, and Clean (SEC) solutions, but will also grow to include the Elevate® line of electroplating products. Specifically, the duties will include:

• Having a deep understanding of Technic products for the Semiconductor industry,
• Keeping abreast of industry developments and market position/performance of comparable competitive products.
• Working with Sales team to select appropriate customer and application targets
• Visiting customers across the territory to understand their equipment, process, and product performance requirements.
• Starting-up and operating the Technic Wafer Processing and Failure Analysis lab
• Conducting product functional performance testing & measurements either on-site or coordinating with other Regions to generate test results remotely.
• Advising on laboratory upgrades needed to better serve customers
• Liaising with customers during qualification tests and providing trouble-shooting advice after installation
• Recommending the best product for the application based on product experience and/or laboratory trials
• Hiring and supervising at least one technician to maintain the lab and support customer trials
• Developing specifications and facility recommendations for local manufacturing of SEC products, either at Technic or third-party facilities
• Advise on hiring and lead training of operators for local manufacturing
• Set operating procedures, quality targets and release specifications for any eventual locally made semiconductor products
• Developing external collaborations with co-suppliers, Universities, or Government Research Institutes to strengthen our offering, improve our market visibility, or secure funding to advance our product offerings.

Requirement

• The role may require regular travel Overseas (1-2 times per month) & less frequent travel to France and the US (1-2 times per year)
• Qualifications: Graduate degree (Masters or PhD) in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
• Experience: 10 Years of experience in Semiconductor Wafer Processing industries

What will you do as a Lead Quantitative Strategist?

• Thought partner to department and investment heads in harnessing data, quantitative and AI/ML methods to augment the respective investment processes.
• Thought partner to help shape the department’s data and analytical capabilities, landscape and ecosystem.
• Lead, guide and manage quantitative research and analysis work across the investment process ranging from screening of managers, manager selection and strategy due diligence to portfolio construction, ensuring research quality and on time delivery.
• Oversee and govern models, analysis, and tools implementation to ensure conformance to best practices, team wide tools and infrastructure.
• Manage and run team’s model and analytics operations.
• Aid in sharing and cross fertilizing of quantitative applications, analysis, and tools across departments, surfacing macro insights to the team and GIC at large.
• Perform quantitative research and analysis with a primary focus on capital allocations, portfolio constructions, optimizations, and risks.

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

• Advanced degree in fields such as Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Economics
• 8-12 years of relevant experiences in quantitative research and analysis, with a focus on applying quantitative methods and AI/ML in capital allocation, portfolio construction, optimization, and risk management
• Experience in a fund allocator setting is a plus
• Good understandings of macro, credit and equities investing and/or capital markets.
• Proficiency in R or Python and SQL
• Be highly motivated, intellectually curious and adept at multi-tasking
• Independent thinker who is able articulate his/her views well, both in verbal and written form
• Strong team player who is comfortable in fostering new internal and external relationships
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to understand, influence and obtain buy-in from stakeholders effectively.
