Team structure

The alliance accounts team currently compromises of a team of nine staff – six for SH and three for VL. The respective teams are responsible for the processing and integrity of information relating to; purchase ledger; credit control; cashiering; billing and the preparation of daily, weekly and monthly reports.

Main responsibilities

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Assistant to join our VL finance team. This role is responsible for handling various accounting functions, with a primary focus on accounts payable, regulatory authority reconciliation, vendor payments, financial reporting, and supporting audits. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and experience with financial software.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

Accounts Payable:

• Verify the accuracy of invoices, including third-party invoices from vendors and other law firms
• Post accounts payable invoices for general vendors such as Marsh, Mercer, StarHub, Grab, and recharged invoices from the alliance offices
• Manage the weekly payment process, including sending office account payment instructions

Regulatory Authority Reconciliation:

• Reconcile transactions from regulatory authorities such as ACRA, CrimsonLogic, MPA, SAL, Lawnet, Stamp Duty, and PC deductions

Payments:

• Process vendor and supplier payments as per payment terms

Concur:

• Review and approve (1st approver) employee expenses in Concur and post approved transactions in alignment of office expense policy

Billings:

• Assist with billing for the MTO Finance, Corporate Finance, and Corporate Secretarial teams
• Provide backup support for other departments
• Handle reversal and reissue of bills (e.g., add/remove co-clients or payable-by parties)
• Follow up to clear any negative anticipated disbursements noted in matter files

Corporate Credit Card:

• Reconcile corporate credit card transactions across all company accounts

StarHub Ltd:

• Activate data roaming for employees and check the accuracy of related bills

Financial Reporting:

• Perform monthly bank reconciliation for Office USD account
• Assist in monthly AP reports printing and reconciliation
• Assist with year-end closing duties, including preparing accounts payable accrual journal entries, etc

Audit Support:

• Support the year-end audit process
• Manage accounts payable audit confirmation and prepare necessary audit working papers

Vendor Giro Form:

• Complete vendor forms, ensuring bank endorsement is obtained whenever required

Adhoc Support:

• Assist with miscellaneous queries and tasks from the Finance Manager/Office Manager

Purpose of the role

To execute trades and manage risk within a defined portfolio of financial instruments and staying informed about market trends and developments to make informed trading decisions.

Accountabilities

• Execution of buy and sell orders or pricing of liquidity in various financial instruments while adhering to the bank's trading strategies and risk parameters.
• Monitoring and analysis of global financial markets, economic indicators, news, and geopolitical events to identify trading opportunities and assess market risks.
• Management and monitoring of the risk associated with the trading portfolio and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal risk management guidelines.

Become a Structured Rates Trader of Barclays’ Rates Options and Structured Rates (ROST) Team, where you’ll play a pivotal role to our business which runs globally with centres of excellence in London, New York and Singapore. Being a leading market maker, Barclays offers world-class execution in non-linear products in Rates Options and structured notes including Vanilla Interest Rate Options as well as Structured Interest Rate Derivatives. In your role, you’ll deliver the market making and execute client trades with sales teams across the regions. You’ll participate into the risk management of global books and work closely with colleagues across Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, New York and London. You’ll will liaise with Research and Sales teams to develop trade ideas for clients as well as portfolio positioning strategies. You’ll handle general desk supports (including working with Product Control, Compliance, Legal and other infrastructure areas). You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in role like, good understandings in financial market and wide interests in Options Trading. Being detail focused, able to work under pressure as well as having excellent analytical skills and being proficient in Python & VBA will be ideal. This role is deemed as a Certified role under the PRA & UK Financial Conduct Authority - Individual Accountabilities Regulations and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.

The incumbent will be responsible for providing medical advice in terms of claims insurance adjudication, supported by the reinsurers’ Chief Medical Officer where appropriate, and to make decisions and recommendations on complex medical claims/high value claims (including Controlled Claims referred by Partners), within the delegated authority given.

Furthermore, to support product development and design for existing and new Insurance Clients, in particular with regards to Policy Wording and Claims Practices including the delivery of operational processes and claims related training.

Responsibilities

1. Medical Advice, Controlled Claims and Claims decisions

• Ensuring that all Controlled Claims are duly authorised in accordance with Reinsurer contractual arrangements and that the required reporting is in place
• Preparation of Controlled Claims reporting
• Handle claims cost management within the organisation by ensuring high standard of claims assessment

2. Claims Audits

• Manage Claims Audits in accordance with the Annual Audit Schedule
• Deliver Audit Reports to Clients and the business in accordance with company's standards
• Audits performed in accordance with the Claims Audit Policy
• Liaison and follow-up on Claims audit findings and implementation with auditees

3. Contribute and support all Partnership activity relating to claims acitivity such as:

• Policy Wording design and interpretation
• Training claims processes
• Processes for the management of claims and controlled claims
• Input in Policy Wording Forum

4. Fraud, Waste and Abuse

• Identify and evaluate potentially fradulent claims and claims wastages and abuses and taking appropriate action to reactify the anomalies

5. Provide or assist in presention and training to internal and external stakeholders

• Best practices on claims processing and guidelines
• Claims case studies sharing
• Claims-related medical topics sharing

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of healthcare and insurance markets
• Experience with health insurance claims handling
• Possess the drive and determination to set, meet and improve upon the highest standards of performance.
• Able to work co-operatively and collaboratively with others to achieve business goals
