Roles & Responsibilities

• Receive goods from suppliers and contractors.
• Prepare and maintain Goods Inspection Records (GIR) and Quality Control (QC) reports.
• Verify shipments against purchase orders to identify any discrepancies, including over-shipments or short-shipments.
• Report any discrepancies to the supervisor.
• Note any rejected items upon receipt, document the reasons for rejection, and record them on the Delivery Order (D.O.).

• Unpack, label, and store goods appropriately for work-in-progress or stock purposes.

The Foundations of Thermodynamics Group is a newly formed group in the School of Humanities at the Nanyang Technological University Singapore led by Nanyang Assistant Professor of Philosophy Eugene Y. Established in 2010, the Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N) is a pan-university research institute that focuses on systems-level research for tropical megacities. It performs translational research that covers the energy value chain from generation to innovative end-use solutions, motivated by industrialisation and deployment. The successful candidate will join a multi-disciplinary team developing methods for the experimental synthesis of reticular materials. The vision of the team is to automate the discovery and synthesis of materials with properties that are tuned for specific applications. This position requires close collaboration with other teams, necessitating a multi-skilled individual capable of working effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Job Requirements:

• PhD degree in chemical engineering, materials science and engineering, or related disciplines

The English Progamme at Nanyang Technological University seeks to hire a Research Associate/Research Fellow to contribute to a new research project on comparative theopoetics and “thing theory” in twentieth-century poetry (“Myriad Things in Theopoetics”).

Research expertise in literature and religion in at least one religious tradition is required (including, but not limited to, Christianity, Daoism, Islam, Hinduism), alongside an openness to comparative religious perspectives. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of an interdisciplinary research community at NTU through the organization of seminars and poetry readings relevant to the project, in addition to being engaged in their independent research.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct independent research on twentieth-century poetry (including modernist poetry) and theopoetics (with a preferable focus on T.S. Eliot, H.D., Mina Loy, and/or Louis Aragon)
• Furnish relevant reports and/or literary reviews at regular intervals
• Assist in the organization of relevant readings and seminars on poetry and (comparative) religion
• Assist in editorial work and the publication of relevant research
• Assist in any/all further administrative tasks relevant to this research project (including budget management)

Job Requirements:

• Minimally, Masters in English Studies/ Religion (with a focus on literature)
• Applicants with PhD preferred
• Other PhD/Master degrees relevant to the research project may also be considered
