GEMS Research Programme Manager (2 years' Contract role)

The SGX Research Team is looking for a Programme Manager who will champion efforts and provide overall support to run an industry-wide research programme grant scheme – Research Grant under the Grant for Equity Market Singapore Scheme (GEMS). Our group has extensive experience in the fabrication and characterization of van der Waals heterostructures based on magnetic and superconducting layered materials. To support our ongoing work, we are looking for a new team member with extensive experience in low-temperature magneto-transport measurements. The candidate is expected to do research on spin triplet generation and characterization by introducing an additional layer of a magnetic semiconductor into existing heterostructures to realize spin mixing.

The main responsibilities of the position include:

1. Design and development of magnetic tunnel junction or spin valve.
2. Nano fabrication (e.g., stacking of van der Waals heterostructures, e-beam lithography, nano deposition) in clean room.
3. Low-temperature electrical characterization of superconductors/semiconductors.

Qualifications

• Qualifications / Discipline:

1. Ph.D. degree in Physics, Material Science, Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, or related disciplines

2. Excellent English communications

• Skills:

1. Nanofabrication

2. Low-temperature measurement

3. Device physics

• Experience:

1. More than 4-year experience in clean room environment

2. More than 2-year experience in graphene or other related 2D materials

• Explore related work in TEE-enabled AI applications.
• Build and implement techniques to guarantee the security of the AI applications while minimizing the impact on their accuracy and efficiency.
• Evaluate the techniques on relevant datasets.
• Write reports/papers on the techniques and results.

• Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or closely related disciplines from an institution of higher learning
• Relevant research experience in machine learning, computer vision, or natural language processing
• Excellent knowledge/proficiency in programming software/languages such as PyTorch is required
• Demonstrated experience and know-how on machine learning, computer vision, or natural language processing. Research experience on foundation models and/or TEEs is a plus.
• Good analytical, technical and problem solving skills
