Within CCRS, the Department for Weather Research (DWR) is responsible for the research and, development of core seamless modelling systems for both weather and climate applications in Singapore and Southeast Asian region, and transition to operations of local numerical weather prediction (NWP), marine and haze/air quality forecasting with lead times up to a week ahead. The DWR works closely with CCRS’s Department of Climate Research (DCR) and High Performance Computing (HPC) Branch, MSS forecasters, local universities, and a number of international organisations including the UK Met Office, Australian Bureau of Meteorology, and US National Centre for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). Since 2021, CCRS has been a core member of the international Unified Model (UM) partnership.

The Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) Branch sits within DWR. The NWP branch is responsible for developing and improving nowcasting and local (km-scale and below) NWP systems, and translating the outputs into customised products for supporting MSS weather services and other stakeholders. The branch also works closely with local agencies, institutes of higher learning and UM partners to share research outcomes and deliver improved forecast products for the region.

Within the NWP Branch of CCRS, DA is a key R&D area used to initialise NWP forecasts through the assimilation of a wide range of space- and ground-based observations.

• Maintain strict adherence to internal policies and internal controls within organization.
• Ensure successful implementations across multiple functions in organization.
• Report any delays and initiate plans and alternative solutions.

Standby Duties

1. Answer all service request phone calls during scheduled standby duties.

2. Attend to the fault call issues and follow SOP in attending to all the calls.

3. Handover the tasks to the respective engineers who is on duty the next day.

4. Support project adhoc activities (e.g. testing, deployment, commissioning).

What attributes should you possess?

• Able to work on stand-by schedule.
• Fast Learner and can work under pressure.
• Resourceful, team player and able to work independently.
• Relevant experience in electrical installation and electrical maintenance is an advantage.

What qualifications and/or experience should you have?

• Diploma / NITEC in Information Technology, ITEngineering, Computer Engineering, Electronic or other related fields.
• Familiar with IT desktop support.
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply

Job Scope:

Prepare memo for admin related matters.

Arrange and coordinate company’s driver schedule

Make travel arrangements for company approved business travel

Handling of company official document for postage or courier

Source for suppliers and purchase stationeries

Assist in the organizing of Company events

Meet targets and those of the team as a whole smooth running of the of administrative function and of the team

Office Administration:

• Manage leave record for overseas staff
• Handle all office matters relating to telephone, faxes, mails
• Review the office equipment contract such as photocopier, franking machine and courier services
• Order of pantry and stationery items as well as to maintain the stock
• Handle the company’s corporate, staff gift and hampers
• Undertake any ad-hoc projects related to the office admin

• To support the sales team in all admin duties.
• And other ad hoc duties assigned.

Requirements:

• GCE O Level and above
• At least 1 year of admin experience
