We are seeking to recruit a proactive and motivated research assistant to join the Bezos Centre for Sustainable Protein at the National University of Singapore (NUS) launched on 5 September 2024, the first of its kind in Asia to advance research in alternative proteins. Led by experts from NUS and research institutes in Singapore, the Centre aims to drive global food security and accelerate regional innovation. The focus will be on microalgae research and biomass fermentation, to produce high-quality, affordable, and sustainable microbial proteins from microalgae and biomass fermentation that can be further developed into cultured meat and plant-based protein hybrids. Microbial proteins will be cultivated through fermentation and processed using emerging bio-physical techniques for effective biotransformation, to improve digestibility, flavour, and nutritional profile. As a research assistant, you will assist with conducting and monitoring microalgal cultivation bioprocesses via analytical techniques to achieve maximal product titres, yields, and rates. Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) is recruiting a Research Fellow specialising in the field of digital health and health education in Professor Jennifer Cleland’s group. LKCMedicine is a joint medical school between Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and Imperial College London.

As a Research Fellow, you will play a pivotal role bringing expertise in digital health and health education, working closely under the guidance of Professor Cleland. The role involves providing crucial support to Professor Cleland, who leads the World Health Organization Collaborating Center (WHOCC) for Digital Health and Health Education. The role will involve conducting evidence synthesis using various methods (quantitative, qualitative, mixed methods) for systematic reviews. The applicant will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of systematic reviewers to evaluate evidence on digital health and health education topics. The impact of your contribution will directly contribute to the field of digital health and health education at the regional and international platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform extensive review for various types of deliverables (e.g., policy briefs, white papers, background papers, technical briefs, research protocols, peer-reviewed publications) on a wide range of digital heath and health education policy topics.
• Search and assess potential sources of qualitative and quantitative data, evidence, and information that are suitable for addressing project questions and objectives.
• Analyse and interpret data from diverse sources.

Job Description

This project will study and propose feasible solution to retrofit existing coastal protection structures. Special feature of this proposed solution is that it must be able to reduce seawater seepage, using innovative way of impervious material. The solution must also be modular in nature, such that it can be stack onto the existing seawall or the previously installed layer.

This research fellow will help the PI and Co-PI in overseeing the project in general and help in drafting the reports. In particular, he/she is responsible for
• design and executive of centrifuge testing in this project.
• Design a wave generation inflight in centrifuge model.
• Model the impermeability of the new proposed modules, and its connection with the existing seawall.
• Data interpretation and summary the laboratory tests, arrive at some key findings on the future design.
