Duties & Responsibilities

a) Grant Administration

Qualifications

• Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Domain - HPLC / LC-QTOF / LCMS-MS / CIC / GPC / ICP-OES / ICP-MS / GC / TD, PY, HS-GCMS / Gas sampling and analysis, etc.
• NMR, Physical and Thermal Characterization Domain - NMR, FTIR, UV, BET, SDT, TPDRO, EA, Rheometer, Tensile Testing, etc.
• Foster strong partnership and close collaborations with both internal R&D and external key industry stakeholders.
• Demonstrated competency in managing analytical instruments. This includes applying specialised knowledge to build deeper understanding for method development / validation and equipment calibration / troubleshooting / maintenance.
• Conduct analytical training for laboratory personnel, ensure appropriate competency before certifying them as authorised users.
• Strong focus and compliance with health, safety and environment requirements (laboratory safety, general housekeeping, chemical storage, waste disposal, etc).
• Good interpersonal and communication skills to interact with various project stakeholders, both internally and externally, through routine updates, written reports and/or meeting presentations.
• Participates in R&D project meetings to provide technical inputs as when required.
• Some knowledge in electronic laboratory information systems that connect with analytical data handling or workflow projects will be an advantage.

The Bio-inspired Robotics and Design Laboratory at SUTD (https://brd.sutd.edu.sg) is seeking to hire a Research Assistant and a Senior Research Assistant to support projects in soft grasping.

The Roles:

The Research Assistant and Senior Research Assistant will contribute to both fundamental and applied research in dexterous manipulation and grasping. They will be involved in developing advanced control systems for novel soft and hybrid mechanisms, aimed at next-generation applications in diverse environments, from harsh to delicate.

We are looking for innovative and passionate researchers eager to work within a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities:

• Integrate sensors.
• Develop high-level robot control systems.
• Implement advanced low-level control and soft sensor feedback mechanisms.
• Support the design and prototyping of mechanisms for various grasping applications.

The Research Engineer will work under the Senior Researcher of Obayashi Construction Tech Lab Singapore (OCLS) on a collaborative research project with a university in Singapore. In this project, the Research Engineer will be involved in the development of a robotics- related platform and will also conduct tests by bringing the robot to construction sites and handling on-site debugging.

Job Responsibilities:

• Contributing to the development of robotics-related platforms, ensuring alignment with project goals and specifications.
• Creating comprehensive test cases to evaluate platforms functionality and performance.
• Conducting acceptance testing of programs developed by the university to ensure they meet project specifications and standards.
• Assessing the compatibility of robotics-related platforms with construction robots in the market to ensure smooth integration and operational efficiency.
• Developing and testing the adapter for industrial construction robots leveraging open-RMF

• Database Management - Manage the database used to host our clinical data to ensure that it is maintained operationally in a cost-effective manner

• Perform data cleaning, data standardization, and data structuring for data in the database
