Corporate Treasury is responsible for managing all aspects of liquidity and funding requirements of the firm in accordance with the Executive Management Boards mandated risk appetite and in compliance with regulatory liquidity metrics.

The Global Liquidity Management (“LM”) team is responsible for designing and implementing the global liquidity management framework covering areas such as liquidity risk policy, liquidity risk monitoring and mitigation, FTP policy, CFP and ownership of the regulatory liquidity ratios such as LCR and NSFR.

This project aims to model the corrosion induced damage process in reinforced concrete. A multi-physics model is envisioned, to capture the ingress of chloride ions, the stress loading on concrete material due to the formation of corrosion products, and the resultant damage in concrete. The postdoctoral fellow will work closely with Asst. Prof. Patrick Rebentrost in the intersection of quantum algorithms and optimization, machine learning and/or finance. Sample topics include quantum algorithms for problems in supervised and unsupervised machine learning, algorithmic learning theory, and online learning, and quantum algorithms for financial problems such as portfolio optimization, pricing of financial derivatives, and hedging. The job will include the development of quantum algorithms in these areas, with provable quantum advantages and provable guarantees, when possible, in fault-tolerant models of quantum computation. The job will also include the development of algorithms that are easier to execute on available hardware such as variational and post-variational methods and quantum approximate optimization. Furthermore, the aim is to provide hardware implementations on available devices, comparisons between available hardware providers, and classical simulations of the quantum algorithms. For this purpose, the successful applicant will be granted significant independence concerning their research and receive generous travel funding. They will be expected to contribute to the group, for example by co-supervising student projects and assisting with outreach activities.

Purpose of the job:

The National University of Singapore invites applications for a Senior Research Fellow position in Prof Brian Kennedy’s lab, part of the Department of Biochemistry and the Healthy Longevity Translational Research Programme, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The lab focuses on basic, clinical and transformative research to add healthy year of life by developing interventions to delay ageing and chronic disease onset, increase healthspan and improve life quality.

Purpose of the post

The Senior Research Fellow (SRF) will be responsible to and work closely with Professor Brian Kennedy to provide support in research projects to advance the understanding of aging biology and age-related diseases, with a specific focus on identifying novel anti-aging compounds (drugs, natural products, metabolites, etc.) that can delay cellular aging and extend healthspan. This includes assessing the effectiveness of these potential compounds in various age-related disease models, including neurodegenerative disorders, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer, sarcopenia, age-related macular degeneration, and skin ailments.
