Job Description

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Work closely with Client Directors to further build client relationships and maintain/grow accounts. (e.g. collaborate on proposals, costs, account reviews, lead presentations/ discussions, etc.).

• Independently able to lead and manage standardized as well as customized studies (Including designing Questionnaires/discussion guides, analysing and evaluating results, and report writing)
• Independently able to develop, implement, coordinate, and manage research projects in collaboration with the internal Research team, external consultants, & operations team.

• Actively drive issue-based analyses, build effective analytical presentations, and consultative storytelling to clients in a straight-forward way.
• Proactively advise line-manager of client status, problems, and opportunities

Requirements:

• Experience in Quantitative research is non-negotiable
• Competent and well-versed in all stages of market research (e.g. proposal writing, questionnaire design, sampling, data collection, data analysis, reporting, and presentation)
• Strong industry knowledge especially in the Brand Health Tracking domain.
• Experience in other disciplines such as U&A, segmentation, pricing, purchase journeys, and product and concept tests would be an added bonus
• Experience in managing a high volume of complex quantitative research studies under tight budgets and schedules.
• Good organiser with the ability to prioritise and multi-task
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Ability to maintain a positive, motivational, “get things done” attitude
• Well-developed interpersonal skills for internal and external clients
• Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint

The Dementia Research Centre (Singapore) [DRCS], an establishment of the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) was set up to pioneer cutting-edge research initiatives, to enhance understanding of cognitive impairment and dementia spectrum disorders, clinically. DRCS is a multi-study research centre focusing on the pathobiology of Asian Dementia and models of care for cognitive disorders. DRCS is helmed by Associate Professor Nagaendran Kandiah, an internationally renowned clinician scientist in the field of dementia.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Fellow with a Ph.D. in Neuropsychology or Psychology to contribute to our center's ongoing research initiatives. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in conducting critical research, employing neuropsychological testing, psychometrics, test validation, digitalization of tests, statistical analyses, and intervention strategies.

Responsibilities:

• Design and conduct neuropsychological assessments for research purposes.
• Develop and validate psychometric tests (pen and paper, digital) relevant to dementia research.
• Perform advanced statistical analyses with large data sets.
• Design research and conduct analyses to identify brain-behaviour relationships, developing new assessment tools, to contribute to advancements in neuroscience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Sourcing

• Perform market research to help develop and pressure-test compelling investment theses, based on robust analysis of global trends, grand challenges, technology and IP landscaping.
• Undertake/prioritize sourcing activity against approved theses.
• Build relationships with like-minded deep tech investor partners, venture studios, and entrepreneur/founder networks.

Due Diligence/Deal Making

• Collate and organize a comprehensive dossier of background information relating to each target investment.
• Perform primary research/conduct interviews with potential customers, business partners, expert advisors/consultants, industry executives, etc. to validate assumptions; interrogate techno-economics; pressure-test competitive positioning, policy/regulatory landscape, market opportunity/dynamics; and evaluate technical development plans.
• Perform financial modeling and prepare investment cases to support valuation recommendations. 
• Prepare cogent and concise investment arguments in written memos and verbal presentations to the IC.
• Support deal negotiations, deal structuring, legal due diligence.

Other

• Comply with internal policies and practices to capture contacts, meeting notes, analyses, and document other work outputs and shared knowledge.
• Support requests by auditors/external valuation firms.
• Other duties as may be requested by executive management.

• Degree in a physical science or computer engineering discipline. PhD preferred.
• Experience in commercial R&D organization (e.g., within a start-up or innovation group within a large company) is preferred.
• Adept at distilling information from primary scientific and technical literature and communicating complex topics in layman’s terms.
• Experience building financial models and investment valuation cases.

Main responsibilities

• Contract review and drafting: Assist in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts and other legal documents.

Under the research programme INSPIRASI, the group is to develop a high performance fuel cell with special focus on the development of metallic bipolar plate and Al-driven controller.  The candidate is required to design, develop and carry out performance characterisation of single-cell and short stack.
