Job Description
A Research Assistant position is available immediately in A/Prof Victor Yu’s laboratory at National University of Singapore (NUS).
The successful candidate will assist the senior team members in investigating the role of MOAP-1 in aging, senescence and lipid metabolism.
The Research Assistant will be involved in wet lab experiments that involve cell cultures and mouse work using standard molecular biology and biochemistry techniques. The Research Assistant will also assist in general laboratory maintenance, for example conducting preventive maintenance of equipment and other miscellaneous tasks such as buffer preparations and ordering of consumables.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
• Perform assigned tasks to support ongoing research projects.
• Assist with mice husbandry and animal experimentation/procedure.
• Maintain up to date records of inventories for chemical/ biological reagents.
• Assist with general upkeep of laboratory and maintain safety protocols.
• Contribute to the preparation of research manuscripts and reports
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described therein.

Bachelor’s Degree in Science.

• Experience:
Prior experience working in a wet lab setting in life sciences will be given priority in the selection process, especially those with prior experience in cell culture, DNA, protein or mouse work.
