SMART M3S is undertaking a project that includes three key work streams:

1) Content: Developing an ontology encompassing various activities, actors, and processes arranged systematically. This involves:

• Extracting content from databases like the Department of Labor's O*Net.
• Human Curation and editing.
• Utilizing Large Language Models(LLMs) for content generation.
• Applying machine learning and statistical techniques to identify clusters of similar activities.

2) Software Tools: Creating a suite of software tools to :

• Browse, edit, and search the online knowledge base.
• Extract content from diverse sources.
• Facilitate human review.
• Integrate LLMs for content generation.
• Support applications demonstrating the ontology's usefulness.

3) Applications: Developing proof-of-concept applications by the end of the one-year project to showcase the ontology's utility. Potential areas include:

• Rapid identification of use cases for generative AI tools.
• Automated generation of detailed workflows and task assignments.
• Stimulating human creativity to address business and societal challenges like climate change and democratic processes.

Responsibilities

The Full Stack Developer will perform the following:

• Design, develop and maintain software tools essential for creating and managing the ontology and its applications.
• Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of researchers, developers, and content specialists.
• Integrate Large Language Models into software applications to enhance functionality.
• Optimize existing codebases for performance and scalability.
• Conduct code reviews, write unit tests, and ensure software reliability.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Research Fellow will design and execute experiments in M. tuberculosis infection of mice, processing of samples, and associated readouts including flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, molecular biology including immunofluorescence. State-of-the art techniques include spatial transcriptomics and bioinformatics can be learnt and applied. Spatial transcriptomic work is also expected from human tissues. The person will lead in the day-to day running of experiments in the Biosafety Level 2 (BSL2) and BSL3 setting, and is expected to work independently, in coordination with other junior and senior team members in the laboratory and clinicians. Supervision of junior lab members such as undergraduates and postgraduate PhD students is expected. Work with live M. tuberculosis is expected in a BSL3 setting. BSL3 experience would be advantageous but not a requirement.

Postdoctoral Fellowship in Asia Research Institute (Science, Technology and Society Research Cluster)

The Asia Research Institute invites outstanding, active researchers from around the world to work on an important piece of Asia-centred research in the social sciences or humanities.

Apart from the quality of the research proposal, and the applicant’s publication track record, positions will be awarded on the basis of the relationship of their research topic to the identified priorities and themes of the cluster.

The Science, Technology, and Society (STS) Cluster concentrates on the relationship between those three domains in and beyond Asian settings, and their intersections with the environment in the past, present and future.

The cluster currently brings together a diverse, interdisciplinary group of researchers who work on the following research themes:

i) climate change and carbon governance;

ii) planetary health and ‘Asian medicines’;

iii) energy transitions, infrastructure and space;

iv) critical minerals.

The cluster welcomes diversity in methodological approaches, fosters interdisciplinary practices and encourages collaborative research projects. In the current round of recruitment, we are particularly interested in hiring a postdoctoral research fellow with research interests at the intersection of STS and environmental humanities.

Given that a growing proportion of ARI’s funding is derived from external sources, strong preference will be given to candidates with potential to contribute to building competitive research grant applications.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Researcher will work under the supervision of the Cluster Leader and take the lead in duties such as organising workshops and conferences, participating in current cluster projects, and carrying out new projects (including applying for grant funding). Administrative duties and committee work will be assigned and form part of the position.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. Candidates must have fulfilled all requirements of securing a PhD from a reputable university at the time they take up their appointment at ARI.

The NUS Centre for International Law (CIL) is accepting applications for Research Associate for its Energy Law and Policy Programme (ELP). Job Summary

As part of the Proteins4Singapore project, this role involves on utilizing simulations and advanced control systems to optimize and ensure quality in novel food textures and forms. This position plays a critical role in advancing sustainable protein solutions for urban environments through interdisciplinary collaboration, drawing expertise from mechanical engineering, mechatronics, and food engineering. This is a 1-year contract with the possibility of extension after the first year.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop a closed-loop control system to synchronize high-moisture extrusion and shape manipulator systems with a seamless integration and quality assurance.
• Integrate a variety of non-invasive sensors for a continuous and active monitoring on a food shape manipulator system.

Purpose of the post

We are seeking a skilled Research Assistant to support our advanced research in developing new methodologies utilising cutting-edge automation approach to unveil the complex connection between microbial population and human health. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for sample preparation, single-cell isolation workflow optimization, and novel bacterial species characterisation. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with state-of-the-art single-cell dispensing platform, develop expertise in high-output nanopore sequencing, and contribute to impactful scientific research.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

This role will suit an individual passionate about microbiology and omics study to understand host-microbes interactions. The RA will be able to:
