Alexandra Hospital, a member of the National University Health System (NUHS) cluster, is a historic site providing integrated, holistic care to patients. The hospital is a test bed for innovative care approaches in Singapore and is currently running a diverse portfolio of studies. Alexandra Research Centre for Healthcare In a Virtual Environment (ARCHIVE) is set-up to support the design of innovative experiments in hospital-supported, community-focused, patient-centred virtual care (vCare) models. ARCHIVE’s projects can include research studies, quality improvement projects and clinical trials that incorporate digital technology to ensure the care models are future ready.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute towards new virtual healthcare projects and manage tasks on the evaluation of existing vCare programs in the areas of telemonitoring, telecollaboration, connected ward ecosystem and virtual care centre.

Job Responsibilities*

You will be responsible for the following:

• Successfully manage projects from start-up to completion.

Responsibilities

a. Comply with approved standards of nursing practices

The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) shall help investigators conduct mainly investigator-initiated clinical trials. The Singapore National Eye Centre/Singapore Eye Research Institute (SNEC/SERI), in collaboration with Nanyang Technological University (NTU), is seeking a highly qualified individual to take on a significant role in this exciting and rapidly developing research direction at the cross-roads of healthcare and artificial intelligence.

He/ She will be expected, but not limited to:

• Develop machine-learning and deep-learning solutions to address current clinical challenges, including segmentation, detection, and prediction, through the use of large-scale medical/ophthalmic images and data from state-of-the-art clinical platforms
• Perform research in medical image processing and develop novel approaches to multimodal imaging (2D and 3D) using imaging systems ranging from current clinical systems to novel imaging prototypes
• Conduct and coordinate research within SNEC/SERI and NTU in line with its research strategy and under the direction and supervision of the Principal Investigators and Collaborators

The Ocular Epidemiological Research Group at SERI conducts ophthalmic epidemiologic research in Singapore and Asia under the Singapore Epidemiology of Eye Diseases (SEED) programme collectively involving over 10,000 study subjects, with comprehensive clinical, image and genetic data. One of the projects including SEED data is ‘Diabetes studY in Nephropathy And other Microvascular cOmplications (DYNAMO-II)’. DYNAMO-II aims to determine the longitudinal relationship between retinal imaging parameters and long-term risk and progression of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and determine the predictive value of retinal vascular imaging measures in identifying patients at risk of CKD, and other adverse outcomes including renal failure, cardiovascular disease and deaths using both data-derived machine learning and retinal image-based “deep learning” algorithms with validation in different local and international cohorts. DYNAMO also includes a clinical cohort that recruits diabetic patients from clinics to predict the progression of CKD.
