DYNAMO-II aims to determine the longitudinal relationship between retinal imaging parameters and long-term risk and progression of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and determine the predictive value of retinal vascular imaging measures in identifying patients at risk of CKD, and other adverse outcomes including renal failure, cardiovascular disease and deaths using both data-derived machine learning and retinal image-based “deep learning” algorithms with validation in different local and international cohorts. DYNAMO also includes a clinical cohort that recruits diabetic patients from clinics to predict the progression of CKD.

Job Responsibilities

A Senior/Principal Process Development Engineer is responsible for developing or overseeing the development of chemical processes including low carbon processes as well as monitoring, troubleshooting and optimizing processes in a pilot plant leading up to a technology transfer. He/she will perform process design, engineering and scale-up of in a Low-Carbon Technology Translational Testbed (LCT3) on Jurong Island leading up to a technology transfer. A Progamme Manager (PM) (Objective and Key Results Officer) position is available in the Computational Digital Pathology Lab (CDPL) at the Bioinformatics Institute (BII), Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore. The AI-based Digital Pathology (AIDP) Program aims to develop and validate advanced AI and machine learning solutions, image processing, computer vision, and mathematical modelling for the pathological diagnosis and prognosis of cancer using digitized pathology slides, including both biopsy and whole standard slides.

Key Skills and Responsibilities:

• Project Planning and Execution: Follow and dynamically adjust the project plan of AIDP programme, including milestones and deadlines. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and progress.
• Team Management and Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Facilitate effective communication and teamwork among team members.
• Stakeholder Management: Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including funding bodies, research institutions, and clinical partners. Provide regular updates and reports on project status, risks, and outcomes.
• Objective and Key Results (OKRs) Management: Define and track OKRs to ensure the programme meets its strategic goals. Analyze performance data and make adjustments to keep the project on track.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. Monitor and address issues that could impact project success.
• Resource Management: Allocate and adjust resources effectively, ensuring that project needs are met within budget constraints. Manage procurement and logistics for project-related resources.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure that project deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. Implement quality control processes and continuous improvement practices.
• Collaboration and commercialization: Build strong collaboration with the local and oversea hospitals. Establish the agreements with the industrial partners for licensing and commercialization.
• Domain Knowledge: Basic knowledge, experience, and expertise in artificial intelligence, machine learning, pattern recognition, and digital image processing techniques.
• Strong analytical and logical thinking skills to address and solve complex scientific and commercialization problems.

Requirements:

• Ph.D/Master/Bachelor degree in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with industrial and project management skill and experience. Additional qualifications in Project Management (e.g., PMP) are advantageous.
• Excellent writing skills, coupled with outstanding communication abilities.
• A strong team player with proven experience in managing large-scale research or development projects, preferably in the healthcare or AI fields.
• Strong background in data science, AI, machine learning, or digital pathology.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in project management tools and software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Passionate about AI and medical innovation.
• Highly motivated and results-oriented.
• Able to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
• Proven experience or strong interest in working within cross-disciplinary teams, including collaborations with hospitals and clinical researchers.
