Tasks:

• Conduct literature reviews on the use of digital technologies and AI applications in public health, focusing on dengue and Covid-19 prevention, monitoring, and control.
• Assist with data collection through interviews with stakeholders (public health officials, tech developers, researchers) and through document analysis of government reports, policies, and relevant publications.
• Support comparative analysis of prevention strategies, focusing on digital technologies (mobile apps, AI, IoT, drones) used in different countries.
• Analyze secondary health data (e.g. dengue incidence rates, app usage statistics, etc.) and integrate qualitative findings from interviews.
• Assist in preparing academic manuscripts, policy briefs, and presentations.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's or Master's degree in public health, geography, urban studies, data science, or a related field.

· Experience with qualitative research methods.

· Strong interest in digital technologies, AI, and public health in Asia.

· Proficiency in literature reviews, data analysis, and report writing.

The Research Engineer (RE) will work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) on visual navigation foundation model for mobile robots, exploration using reinforcement learning control, learning-based control, etc. The RE will develop and train algorithms that enable intelligent and robust autonomous navigation in unseen environments. Microbial proteins will be cultivated through fermentation and processed using emerging bio-physical techniques for effective biotransformation, to improve digestibility, flavour, and nutritional profile. As a research fellow, you will lead projects to optimise microalgae cultivation processes and apply bio-physical techniques to improve nutritional and organoleptic properties. Appointments will be initially made on a 1-year contract, renewable for up to 5 years.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct research activities in accordance with the Centre objectives involving but not limited to:
i. Conversion of industrial food side-streams into media suitable for microalgae cultivation.

The Global Centre for Asian Women’s Health (GloW) aims to build a global research platform for transdisciplinary endeavours to address major health concerns over a woman's lifespan and across generations. Through its main hub in Singapore, the Centre will engage in multi-disciplinary research to promote women’s health, including a series of diet and lifestyle intervention studies.

Purpose of the role

The project coordinator/manager will play a key role in dietary intervention studies by actively managing and coordinating diet and lifestyle intervention studies in GloW. Responsibilities include development, implementation and monitoring of meal plans, educating participants as needed, collecting dietary data, and performing administrative duties to ensure the studies’ success and compliance. The staff will work closely with Principal Investigators of intervention studies, collaborate closely with the research team, food service team, and other relevant stakeholders, as well as undertake other ad-hoc responsibilities assigned by the Centre’s Director as needed.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The staff will hold a few key responsibilities, including

(1) Intervention study coordinator:

• Recruit and interview study participants for the intervention study
• Implement methods for collecting dietary data, including detailed food intake records and compliance monitoring.

(2) Nutritional Intervention study monitoring:

• Monitor food/nutrient composition for meals developed for intervention study

Chronic unresolved inflammation is a key pathogenic feature of prevalent inflammatory disorders and related syndromes that together are predicted to affect close to 60 million people with an annual cost of $90B. As such, the global anti-inflammatory therapeutic market is in urgent need for new targets for therapeutic intervention.

The Ho lab at Duke-NUS is building a platform to mine the human genome for novel determinants of the inflammatory response. We are seeking an experienced researcher who will participate and drive the execution of this platform in collaboration with other senior members of the team. The selected candidate will be expected to work at the bench as well as manage some aspects of the project such as administration of documentation required for smooth operations. Successful completion of the project will lead to opportunities for transition to industry roles. Candidates with strong technical ability and expertise in inflammation biology, and who are interested in taking discoveries from the lab through to commercialization are strongly encouraged to apply.

The Duke-NUS Laboratory for Translational and Molecular Imaging (LTMI), Duke-NUS Medical School, is recruiting a Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow specialising in Nuclear Imaging within the Immuno-Oncology domain.
