The Signature Research Programme in Health Services & Systems Research (“HSSR”) in Duke-NUS Medical School is a centre of academic excellence for research and education on the organisation, funding and delivery of health services. The programme’s focus is on public health and clinical service innovation in an increasingly complex and connected world. The major research focus of HSSR is the organisation and delivery of health and social services in the context of an ageing population. The research methods include decision science and simulation modelling, survey research, qualitative research, health economics, and implementation science and evaluation. Research Fellow (postdoc) positions in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at National University of Singapore (NUS).

The primary objectives of these two positions are to foster a profound design principle towards novel, cost-effective electrocatalysts and reactors for the efficient conversion of CO2/CO into liquid fuels. Furthermore, these roles will involve exploring the potential for synergizing biochemistry and electrochemistry, with the overarching goal of enhancing selectivity and efficiency in the conversion of CO2 into multi-carbon products. Extensive state-of-the-art infrastructures for materials synthesis and physical characterizations are established at the Department.

The research fellows are required to help in guiding young students, visiting scholars, and assisting the establishment of larger research applications and facilitating initiatives with respect to sharing and developing infrastructure for electrocatalysis research within NUS.

Job Requirements

The applicants must hold a PhD (or other equivalent degrees) in chemical engineering, chemistry, materials science or other relevant related field. Experience with electrocatalysis, or similar chemistries, is considered advantageous. The Research Fellow will be responsible for working closely with the Principal Investigator (A/Prof Suranga Nanayakkara). He/She will work in developing effective pedagogical strategies for CET (Continuous Education and Training) courses. Their work will involve developing potential strategies based prior work and in-house qualitative/quantitative data collections, designing interventions based on these strategies, testing and piloting them across various adult/lifelong learning courses.

Major responsibilities include:

1. Working with A/Prof Suranga Nanayakkara and Senior Research Fellow at CHILL to conduct original, impactful research.

2. Taking the lead on research & development work related top pedagogical strategies for CET (Continuous Education and Training) courses.

3. Contributing to disseminate research outcomes to the audience in the field of Adult Learning/Education/Learning Sciences through presentations, demos and journal/conference papers.
