The objective of this project is to advance the field of RNA analysis by developing and implementing innovative analytical tools. Responsibilities

The Research Engineer will plan and conduct experiments with the aim of studying the roles of RNA modifications in human immunue diseases. The candidate will work primarily on cell culture, RNA isolation, and chromatography-coupled mass spectrometry analysis. Nanyang Environment and Water Research Institute, NTU is looking for a Research Fellow with expertise in heterogeneous catalysis to develop improved catalyst formulations for conversion of plastic waste into carbon nanotubes and hydrogen.

The project is funded by National Environment Agency, Singapore to address one of the largest problems in waste management – the problem of plastic waste pollution. A significant fraction of plastic waste has substandard quality for mechanical and chemical recycling even after sorting and cleaning. The Research Fellow will use pyrolysis-chemical vapor deposition (CVD) technology for converting these plastic waste streams (specifically, contaminated and rejected plastics) into multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and hydrogen. The role of Research Fellow is to develop catalysts that will allow to reduce catalyst cost and increase carbon nanotubes yield to make the process more economically viable.

Key Responsibilities:

The candidate will be undertaking full research work and administrative duties during the term of employment within the following areas:

• Catalyst formulation and testing in pyrolysis-CVD process;
• Liaising with toll manufacturers regarding the feasibility of scaled up catalyst production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in the conduct of research project with research team members to ensure completion of deliverables
• Designed, develop and fabrication flexible sensor array, integrate biosensors into hybrid electronic devices, advancing wearable device functionality.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholder on Hybrid-Integrated Next-Generation μ-Electronics
• Assist in grant writing.
• Maintenance of lab or equipment or supplies that include procurement and liaison with suppliers.
• Assist or produce high quality reports and documents that consolidate research findings
• Publish research findings in high-impact journals and present at international conferences .
• Contribute to the mentoring and guidance of junior researchers and students, fostering an environment of learning and innovation within the project team.

Job Requirements:

• PhD degree in Materials Science and Engineering or related field
• At least 4 years of relevant experiences in flexible electronics
• Expertise in flexible electronics, mechanical sensors, strain sensors, tactile sensors.
• Proficiency in mechanical testing, electrical testing, materials characterization, system integration
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Capable of design and assemble of device prototypes.
• Candidates with publications in top-tier scientific journals are preferred.

You will be part of a well-funded initiative to create quantum networks of superconducting circuits mediated by telecom photons. Your job could include the following subjects:

• Leading the design and fabrication of superconducting qubits that resist to moderate magnetic fields
• Spearheading the development and fabrication of chips that combine superconducting circuits and integrated photonics
• Exploring novel fabrication methods to couple rare-earth ions in solid-state with integrated optics and superconducting circuits
• Measuring quantum correlations between microwave photons at cryogenic temperature and telecom photons at room temperature

You will also work closely with the Principal Investigator to develop future experimental goals and shape the general research direction of the group. Qove Laboratory is led by Assistant Professor Steven Touzard and located at the National University of Singapore. The lab is funded by the prestigious NRF Fellowship. Qualifications

Postdoc applicants should have proven research experience and have a strong interest in quantum technologies. Furthermore, a PhD in Experimental Physics or Engineering is required, as well as knowledge on quantum optics measurement, optical fiber equipment, as well as cryogenic equipment. Ideally you received your PhD working on superconducting circuits, spin defects in solid-state, integrated optics or quantum optics experiments.
