Nanyang Environment and Water Research Institute, NTU is looking for a Research Fellow with expertise in heterogeneous catalysis to develop improved catalyst formulations for conversion of plastic waste into carbon nanotubes and hydrogen.

The project is funded by National Environment Agency, Singapore to address one of the largest problems in waste management – the problem of plastic waste pollution. A significant fraction of plastic waste has substandard quality for mechanical and chemical recycling even after sorting and cleaning. The Research Fellow will use pyrolysis-chemical vapor deposition (CVD) technology for converting these plastic waste streams (specifically, contaminated and rejected plastics) into multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and hydrogen. The role of Research Fellow is to develop catalysts that will allow to reduce catalyst cost and increase carbon nanotubes yield to make the process more economically viable.

Key Responsibilities:

The candidate will be undertaking full research work and administrative duties during the term of employment within the following areas:

• Catalyst formulation and testing in pyrolysis-CVD process;

• Patrolling of car park assigned
• Attend to customer enquiries with appropriate mannerism
• Housekeeping of car park equipment and general car park surrounding
• Admin function as per directed by the supervisor
• Proper stock control of expendables

Location: Marina Bay Cruise Centre

Working Hours: 8 hours per shift (2 shifts)

Shift Timings: 0700–1500 & 1500–2300

Basic Monthly Salary: $2,950 (24 days)

Job Requirements:

• At least one available notification
• Ability to start on 1st February
• Certifications in OBSE, RTT, and CCTC

Responsibilities:

• Manage purchase requisition, quote and purchase order documents and processes
• Review the purchase requisition report & check the demand.
• Raise portal to request sales manager approval for excess PO quantity.
• Work with planning on material pulling in to support manufacturing needs
• Work on excess PO cancellation with supplier
• Resolve account payable issue
• Shipment arrangement with the supplier
• Inter-company shipment arrangement with planning team, warehouse and logistic department
• Update delivery schedules in SAP for both Singapore & Malaysia entity

Requirements:

• Degree/Diploma with at least 3 to 5 years experience in EMS/ Manufacturing environment
• Possess experience in purchasing PCBA components & electronic mechanical in manufacturing
• Knowledge in SAP is a plus
• Team player with a positive attitude and organized in administrative duties
• Sense of urgency and able to cope in fast pace environment
• Strong negotiation and material management skill
