As a Machine Learning Research Engineer, the successful candidate will contribute to the programme by developing and implementing novel machine learning algorithms with focus on security and data privacy, as well as translating recent AI advancements to the healthcare setting.

Imperial College London and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) are seeking Research Engineers and Research Fellows to join the exciting new Imperial/NTU CYber Protection for HEalthcaRe (IN-CYPHER) research programme on the cybersecurity of connected medical devices and systems.

The successful candidates will join the research programme which represents a collaboration between the United Kingdom and Singapore and will be based at the newly established Imperial Global Singapore (IGS) housed within the unique CREATE campus.

Position Summary:

We are looking for a dynamic Infrastructure Engineer with a strong background in Cloud & DevOps technologies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of automating infrastructure operations, improving deployment efficiency, and optimizing cloud environments.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain automation pipelines and cloud solutions that enhance the scalability, security, and reliability of our systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Cloud and DevOps teams to ensure efficient cloud infrastructure operations, focusing on AWS Cloud.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment processes using tools like Ansible and other DevOps technologies.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust AWS native CI/CD pipelines for seamless software delivery.
• Develop, Implement and manage infrastructure as code (Terraform) to automate cloud environments, ensuring consistency, security, and scalability.
• Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure issues, ensuring system reliability and uptime.
• Maintain and update documentation of processes, systems, and configurations.
• Continuously improve automation processes to support development and operations efficiency.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in automation, DevOps, and cloud technologies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 4-6 years of experience in AWS Cloud, Infrastructure Automation using Ansible.
• Strong hands-on experience with Ansible and DevOps tools (Jenkins, Bitbucket, Code Pipeline, etc.).
• At least 2 years of experience in AWS native DevOps tools.
• Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking, and security best practices.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Shell, or Bash for automation tasks.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
• Experience in automating server/VM creation and provisioning.
• Ability to automate the configuration of network policies and rules.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to resolve complex issues efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Good to Have:

• AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).
• Experience with container orchestration.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., ELK, Grafana, CloudWatch).
• Experience in implementing CI/CD pipelines for cloud-native applications.
• Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments.

• Handling of equipment for military and security (eg Chemical Detector, Radiation detector, Biological Detection Systems for Military , Acoustic Hailing Equipment / System etc)
• IT software installation and configuration.
• Handling enquiries on products such as post-sales delivery of equipment
• Carry out maintenance,diagnostic analysis, trouble shooting and repair work for equipment.

Requirements

• Higher Nitec / Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering with min 5 years relevant experience
• Experience in customer relations.
• Able to do Stand-by duty if required
