Overall Job Purpose:
- Responsible for supervising or executing maintenance and operation of all Engine Room equpment and system.
- Guarantee efficient and safe operations and amaintenance of all Engine Room Equpiment and systems including emergency equpiment by supervising the Boiler and Utility Operators, orienting and working closely with them thus contributing to the production and revenue target acheuvement.
- Performs the test and dosage for boilers and cooling systems as well as the register of the information collected.
- Perform or delegate regular rounds checking all machinery spaces and equipment including steering gear room and all external equipment related to Engine Room located on Main DEck and Topsides as follow but not limited to : Inert Gas System , Bunkering station, Lifeboat/ Rescue Boats, FirePumps, reporting and ating upon any defects when required ensuring that all information to be properly registered on CMMS.
- Ensure that Oil Record Book is filled up timely in according to instruction which is included into the book itself and reaching out to the Superintendent for assistance in case of any doubt.
- Contribute to the proper planning of offshore activities by supporting Offshore Planner and Maintenance Supt in the prioritization and scheduling of services to be performed onboard , participating in discussions along with other Offshore leaderships when requested and duly approving all WOs for Engine Room work on CMMS.
-Assist to Planner and Maintenance Supt to review the maintenance plan by providing inputs for the plan based on own technical knowledge and experiences.. To inform CMMS team if detected any equp not covered by Maintenance Plan.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bach Degree in Nautical Sciences (Engines Specialty) or Maritime Institute / School required.
- STCW Certificate III / 1 or III/2 or equivakebt to satisfy Flag requirements is required.
- Minimum 8 years overall experience is expected.
-Previous experience in a leadership position has an advantage.
- Well written , spoken English is mandatory and advanced Portuguese is expected.
