Working hours:

• Monday - Friday (8.30 am to 5.30 pm)
• Saturday (8.30 am to 3.00 pm)

• Assist in acquiring new customers and sell additional products to existing ones through identifying new sales leads, pitching products and/or services and maintain fruitful relationships with existing customers;
• Research organisations and individuals online (including and not limiting to social media) to identify new leads and potential new markets. Research the needs of other companies and learn who makes decisions about purchasing;
• Contact potential clients via email or phone to establish rapport and set up meetings;
• Plan and oversee new marketing initiatives. Attend meetings, and industry events;
• Prepare PowerPoint presentations and sales displays, contact clients to inform them about new developments in the company’s products, develop quotes and proposals, negotiate and renegotiate by phone, email, and in person;
• Provide reports and feedback to management about what is and is not working;
• Provide business support in sales activities, logistics and plant operations;
• Assist in managing the daily logistics operations such as ensuring enough supply of raw materials and smooth delivery of products;
• Liaise with the manufacturing unit to meet sales demand and monitor factory KPIs;
• Assist sales managers in trade processing, customer servicing;
• Provide support for internal customers such as overseas subsidiaries as well as monitor their control procedure;
• Monitor the efficiency of the manufacturing plants and oversee production planning;
• Monitor and support management in managing the performance of business units; and
• Other ad-hoc business development and operation assignments

Requirements:

• Preferably a 2nd Class Upper Honours Degree in Engineering, Science (Chemistry / Biochemistry / Food Science & Technology) or Business Studies;
• 3 to 5 years working experience and some experience in business development activities;
• Good with numbers;
• Strong communication skills and IT fluency;
• Creativity and problem solving skills;
• Willing to stay abreast in the industry and its current events;
• Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines;
• Attention to details and good organisation/prioritisation skills; and
• Willing to business travel.

Summary

Responsible for identifying new leads/accounts/channels within the Chromatography products/territory markets and to meet/exceed the set goals. Be the contact point of communication supporting and resolving all accounts enquiries. Execute pre-sales and post sales activities.

Key accountabilities

Overall

• Responsible for orders and revenue growth of Chromatography products in Singapore.
• Develop and maintain good business partnership with all customers.
• Network actively with the scientific community to understand the current and future market trends.

Pre-sales (70%)

• Build funnels via account planning, mapping and data analysis to provide accurate forecast and sales strategy.
• Develop and execute go-to-market strategy.
• Work with other sales members to ensure offerings of total solutions and presenting to new and existing customers.
• Understand market trends and competitive situation.
• Faithful in updating sales opportunity records in CRM/Salesforce.com.

Post sales (30%)

• Conduct training and responsible for collateral development, joint customer visits and regular communication.
• Conduct after sales activities by providing technical and software training, method set-up and responding to customers’ queries.

Reporting to General Manager, Sales & Marketing, this position will play a key role in driving our sales and marketing strategies focusing on technical support initiatives for global and Japanese customers. This role involves orchestrating joint trials, crafting technical proposals, and resolving complex issues. Additionally, the role will mentor and support technical executives within the Sales & Marketing division.

Responsibilities:

• Forge strategic alliances with Research & Development (R&D) team in Japan Headquarters (HQ) and counterparts from other countries to drive application and market expansion initiatives through thorough understanding of customers’ needs in global and Japanese markets
• Conduct in-depth analysis of market trends and competitive landscapes across global markets to formulate technical strategies tailored to diverse markets
• Deliver exemplary technical services to our global clientele, including Japanese customers and business partners for commercialization of polyolefin, polyethylene and other chemical products

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering/Polymer Science with 12 to 15 years relevant working experience
• In-depth knowledge in polymer and packaging industry related to m-LLDPE/HDPE/PP
• Proficient in Japanese language to liaise with counterparts from HQ in Japan
• Strong understanding of Japanese market and culture
