The Assistant General Manager collaborates with the Managing Director and Head of Departments to oversee and manage all aspects of the business operations.

Job Duties

Oversees and manage the 4 areas of business :

1. Legal Compliance.

· Reviews and approve all Company processes and policies to ensure compliance and effectiveness.

2. Day to day operations.

· Provide leadership by communicating and reinforcing the company's strategic direction to stakeholders.

· Work with the Management team to ensure operational issues are resolved.

· Assess the company structure and provide recommendations to the Managing Director for improving efficiency and effectiveness.

· Driving change, innovation, and continuous improvement in support of company opportunities.

· Conduct quarterly reviews for all departments to ensure all targets are being met.

3. Risk Management.

· Partner with Business Development to create a sales strategy that aligns with company objectives and drives business growth.

· Develop a strong understanding of the Business to weigh out risk for decision making and proposals.

4. Finance Overview.

· Implement and monitor yield management in all divisions to ensure competitiveness and profitability.

· Ensure compliance with company standards including proposals, costing of proposals.

· Oversee headcount and budget management to enhance the company's productivity and ensure effective succession planning.

Job Prerequisites

• Bachelor's Degree in any discipline.
• Proven experience in a similar leadership role within an SME or start-up environment.

Event Coordination

• Source and liaise with vendors for events and marketing materials, ensuring quality and timeliness.
• Provide logistical support during events, managing on-site operations effectively.

Content Creation

• Script, produce, shoot, and edit photography and videography projects to align with marketing objectives.
• Conceptualise and develop and execute engaging marketing campaigns and creative ideas.

Social Media Management

• Manage social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn) to boost fan engagement and digital presence.
• Create diverse content such as posts, stories, reels, thought leadership pieces, and advertisements.

Marketing Campaigns

• Conduct market research to identify trends and develop relevant, innovative marketing strategies.
• Develop content for electronic direct mailers (EDMs), internal communications, and company websites.

Lead Generation

• Manage and execute lead-generating campaigns on platforms such as Facebook to drive potential customer or candidate interest and engagement.

Collaborative Support

• Assist subsidiaries and related companies in marketing and event-related tasks.
• Support various ad-hoc projects, initiatives and administrative task as assigned.

Requirements:

Diploma in Media, Marketing, or a related field.

1-2 years of relevant experience with a proven track record in photography and video editing.

Passion and creativity in content creation and campaign ideation.

Proficiency in managing social media platforms and using digital marketing tools.

Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Competency in photography, videography, and editing software (e.g., Canva, CapCut, Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator).

Excellent multitasking and organizational skills to handle diverse responsibilities effectively.

Knowledge of SEO practices is a plus.

• Function as a safety assessor as per relevant regulatory requirements
• Function as a Site Incident Controller (SIC) and lead the Company Emergency Response Team (CERT) during emergency situations
• To serve as secretary for the Vessel Safety Coordination Committee (VSCC) for all assigned projects
• Initiate and conduct investigation for the purpose of identifying root causes upon any occurrences
• Liaise with relevant authorities as point of contact representing PaxOcean
• Any other tasks or responsibilities as assigned by HSE Head

Task and Responsibilities

• To provide necessary support to PaxOcean Group HSE for all matters
• Function as the appointed Fire Safety Manger (FSM) for the yard and ensure all requirements as per Fire Code are being complied with
• Taking lead as FSM or other appointed role within the Emergency response plan (ERP) during the event of an emergency
• To serve as HSE Duty Manager as per manpower scheduling
• Identify areas of improvement within current system and processes and recommend areas of improvement
• Co-ordinate with both internal and external stake holders (Yard Management team, Owners, Contractors, and local government authorities) on all HSE matters
• Ensure PaxOcean safety procedures are up to date and conforms to Singapore and International Standards and align with regulatory requirements
• To strategize and plan out annual department work plan and Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
• Identification of training needs for both yard operational team and HSE department personnel
• To participate in the evaluation and appraisal for all HSE department personnel’s performance and work output
• To oversee the conduct of periodic audit and assessment of consultants, suppliers, contractors
• Oversee preparation of weekly and monthly HSE report
• Organise HSE Monthly Committee meeting
• Prepare External Awards Application
• Carry out periodic maintenance, servicing and replacement for all HSE assets
• To prepare and submit Prequalification Questionnaire
• Assist to monitor department budgets and expenditure
• To plan and implement HSE initiatives and campaigns

Job Requirements

• More than 10 years of Shipyard / Marine related Experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in management role.
• Bachelor’s degree in EHS / any relevant engineering field from recognized institute.
• Firm and decisive in decision making
• Ability to provide feasible and practical solutions to challenges encountered
• Competent in planning and conducting ISO 45001, ISO 14001 & Safety Management System Audit.
• Ability to monitor and conduct data analysis and trending
• Ability to conduct investigation and root cause analysis utilizing various proven investigational techniques

Position objective and summary
