Responsibilities
(a) To assist the occupier of the workplaces or other person in charge of the workplace to identify and assess any foreseeable risk arising from the workplace or work processes therein;
(b) To recommend to the occupier of the workplaces or other person in charge of the workplace reasonably practicable measures to eliminate any foreseeable risk to any person who is at work in that workplace or may be affected by the occupier's undertaking in the workplace;
(c) To recommend to the occupier of the workplaces or other person in charge of the workplace where it is not reasonably practicable to eliminate the risk the reasonably practicable measures, to minimize the risk, and safe work procedures to control the risk;
(d) To assist the occupier of the workplaces or other person in charge of the workplace implements the measure or safe work procedures;
(e) To investigate any incidents/accident and advise on the remedial measures to be taken to prevent any recurrence;
(f) To work closely with the relevant authorities (e.g. Ministry of Manpower/Occupational Safety and Health Division, LTA, PUB NEA) on safety and health matters;
(g) To administer and implement an effective Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) in accordance with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and preparation for third-party external safety audit;
(h) To assist the management in Safety and environmental promotion to promote awareness among workers by organizing campaigns, training courses, competitions, etc;
(i) Assist Project manager to execute Environmental prevention and control measures;
(j) Conduct Environmental, Health and Safety Internal Audits as per ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 requirements;
(k) Making certain that all ordinances or orders bearing on occupational safety and health and environment are complied with local laws; and
(l) Under the WSH Act, employees have a duty to keep their workplace and colleagues safe:
· Cooperate with employers and follow safety and health procedure;
· Report unsafe acts and incidents;
· Do not tamper with safety devices or perform wilful or reckless acts; and
(m) Be responsible for any other duties that may be assigned to you from time to time as your superior / management deem fit.
Requirements
· Good spoken and written communication skills
· Must possess WSQ Advanced Certificate in WSH (Level B)
· Preferably with riding/driving license
· Preferably experience in construction sector and in LTA / CAG projects
· Possess knowledge of Workplace Safety and Health Act.
