Overview Of Role

As a Commodity Sales Associate, the candidate will be responsible for marketing Morgan Stanley’s capabilities across Energy, Agricultural and Bulk Commodities and Metals to Corporate and Institutional Investor clients.

The candidate will interact with corporate clients such as commodity producers, refiners, and end-users, and with institutional clients such as hedge funds, pension funds, asset managers, and index replicators on commodities markets providing over-the-counter trade execution, and services including market commentary and investment themes, delivering Morgan Stanley house research and possible trade ideas.

The ideal candidate will also work to onboard target clients onto the Morgan Stanley platform, and then work with structuring and trading to deliver innovative, high value transactions to clients as well as to facilitate day-to-day flow.

Skills & Requirements

• 2-3 years of relevant commodities marketing experience
• Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, or a related subject
• Excellent understanding of commodities markets
• Collaborating attitude and strong interpersonal skills
• Detail orientated whilst operating within market conditions.
• Ability to disseminate market colour, sales ideas, and content to clients.
• Fluency in English and Japanese to cover clients within the region

Responsibilities

· Develop specific marketing plans and activities for specific product(s) or product line(s) to establish, enhance or distinguish product placement within the competitive arena

· Develop business plans and product positioning in the marketplace

· Oversee market research, monitor competitive activity and identify customer’s requirements

· Establish pricing strategies. Work with engineering, manufacturing and sales to develop new products or enhance existing product(s) or product line(s)

· Prepare Pricing quotes; negotiate to final price and submit documentation to book order

· Follow-up on accounts receivables

· Communicate and present Company products’ roadmaps and capabilities to customers, as well as communicating and presenting the customer’s technology needs to business units’ representatives

· Maintain appropriate coverage and documentation for all assigned customers. Update

· and maintain summary of customers’ visits. Develop customer specific action plans and complete them on a timely basis

· Identify current and future customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual customers

· Partner with business units’ representatives to establish the sales budget for the Fiscal Year.

Requirements

· Degree in Engineering or its equivalent

· At least 2 years of relevant experience in the semiconductor industry

· Willingness to travel and devote extended hours to handle challenging sales projects.

Sales Strategy & Execution:

• Meet or exceed individual sales targets while contributing to the team’s overall revenue goals.

Business Development:

• Identify low occupancy periods and develop targeted strategies to maximize room sales during these times.
• Provide recommendations to regain lost accounts and implement special programs to boost volume, occupancy, average rates, and overall revenue from these accounts.

• Continuously identify and source new business opportunities across all revenue-generating areas to maximize overall hotel revenue.
• Maintain a keen awareness of competitors' strengths, weaknesses, and pricing strategies to stay ahead in the market.

Account Management:

• Review and analyze account portfolio regularly, presenting performance analysis and forward action plans to sales leader.
• Monitor key accounts, bookers, and customers, ensuring continuous engagement and satisfaction.

Sales Operations:

• Oversee the preparation and management of all sales contracts, proposals, and agreements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with hotel policies.
• Work closely with the Revenue Management team to optimize room inventory and pricing strategies in alignment with market demand.
• Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Banquet, Operations, Front Office) to ensure seamless service delivery and high levels of client satisfaction.

Requirements:

• In-depth knowledge of various automotive makes, models, and features, as well as the ability to evaluate vehicle conditions accurately.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to build trust and effectively negotiate deals.
• Proficiency in using digital tools and platforms for listing, marketing, and managing vehicle sales.
• A valid Singapore driving license is highly preferred.
