Overview of the role
AMOS is currently seeking candidates for our Head of GLOBAL Sales. Successful candidates will have a background in managing sales and account management teams, ideally within the marine and energy industries. A professional sales education/training with a proven track record of achieving targets and driving sales growth in specifically APAC & EMEA is required.
The Head of Sales should have strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire the team. Additional skills such as project management, attention to detail, and outstanding oral / written communication will thrive within a fast-paced and, at times, demanding environment. This position will report to CEO in Singapore.
Responsibilities and duties (include but not limited to)
Sales Management
- Leads the development and implementation of the sales plan to deliver revenue and margin targets driving P&L growth.
- Ensures alignment with overall sales strategy and priorities whilst anticipating local complex issues, challenges and opportunities.
- Effectively communicates the overall sales strategy and business plan to the sales team, ensuring every member of the team understands how they personally contribute to achieving business aims and values. Motivates people to commit to targets and to doing extraordinary things to achieve AMOS business goals, ensuring the team delivers on those plans.
- To assign sales budget to each member of the sales team in accordance with the respective region.
- Ensures effective relationship management and account or sales plans are in place for all allocated or target customers. Coaches sales colleagues to drive performance at all stages of the sales pipeline. Seeks opportunities to increase exposure to new ways of working and on-job skills development for team.
- Supports the team to configure complex, high value tailored or bespoke product and service solutions and associated contractual terms that meet the customer's strategic goals. Supports key solution presentations to customer representatives and negotiations, including managing internal relationships to ensure smooth delivery at an acceptable level of commercial risk. Reviews and authorises sales proposals to ensure that these are constructed within acceptable commercial and risk parameters.
- Works with leadership teams to develop and gain agreement to an annual business plan aligned to AMOS strategy; details forecast and customer expectation; develops business cases for key projects or new agreement, ensuring cross-functional integration as needed.
- Identify key areas for improvement in the sales process
- Spot market opportunities for new customers
- Interact with prospects from employees up to C-suite; build and maintain relationships
- Ability to tell the AMOS 'story', talk to all products and services, and sell the AMOS value proposition
- Demonstrates in-depth knowledge and capability at each stage in the sales process, providing the basis for effective capability assessment, development and performance management. Identifies skills gaps and supports team to identify and action their development priorities. Motivates team to develop their capabilities and fulfil their personal potential.

- Lead by example on sales governance and compliance across the region.
- Responsible for organizing weekly sales meetings with the Sales Managers, Customer Service and Sales Operations using AMOS’ BI & CRM
- Review account pipeline (including RFQ’s), activities and performance using Salesforce (CRM).
- Review new opportunities, new business, loss business and new competition on a regular basis and take corrective actions, where applicable.
- Conduct monthly, quarterly, and yearly customer business reviews, ensuring well-prepared meetings with relevant stakeholders.
Collaboration and Transparency
- Assure AMOS’ delegated level of authority is fully adhered to, using CRM for formal sales approvals.
- Collaborate cohesively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Secure compliance with AMOS’ sales governance
Education, Skills, and background (incl. Education and Experience Requirements)
- Min. 8 years experience in managing sales and account management teams
- Min. 5 years of work experience in marine & energy sales
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and provide direction
- Experience with Salesforce.com and SAP
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to take the initiative and interact with all levels of management; self-starter
- An energetic, enthusiastic, and organized team player
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) from a 4-year university
- The ability to converse well in both English and Mandarin/Japanese/Korean (to liaise with the APAC-based clients) is preferred
