Job Description: Events Manager at a Gin Distillery
A bar and restaurant owned and run by the same passionate people of Tanglin Gin - Singapore’s first Gin Distillery.
Tanglin Gin - Singapore’s first distillery has relocated to a central area with a FnB front,
showcasing our products through hospitality, masterclasses and distillery tours with the
aim to grow our brand organically. We produce an assortment of spirits, focused on but
not limited to Gin and are looking for a motivated and responsible individual that will help us grow our F&B arm of the business.
Position Overview: As an Events Manager at our Distillery and Front-of-House, you will
be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing a variety of events that promote our brand, engage our target audience, and contribute to the overall success of our
distillery.
You will work closely with our FOH team, marketing team, distillery staff, and external vendors to create memorable experiences for our customers and guests. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and creative skills, as well as a
passion for gin and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Event Planning and Execution:
â—Ź Coordinate all aspects of event planning, including selecting vendors,
managing budgets, creating event timelines, and coordinating logistics.
â—Ź Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure
seamless execution of events, such as tastings, cocktail masterclass
workshops, product launches, and private and/or semi-private parties.
● Oversee event setup, including décor, audiovisual equipment, and other
necessary arrangements.
â—Ź Manage event registrations, guest lists, and RSVPs, ensuring a positive
and personalized experience for attendees.
2. Marketing and Promotion:
â—Ź Collaborate with local businesses, organizations, and influencers to
increase event visibility and attract target audiences.
● Work with partners such as “Venuerific” to ensure quality and quantity of
lead inflow.
â—Ź Source for partners who operate similarly to current partners to ensure
longevity of brand awareness.
â—Ź Generate leads to ensure revenue stream in slower year periods.
â—Ź Ensure seasonal packages such as festive periods (Christmas, Chinese
New Year etc.) are planned in advance coordinating with the Operations
Manager and Marketing Department.
3. Guest Experience and Customer Service:
â—Ź Provide exceptional customer service to event attendees, ensuring a
positive and memorable experience.
â—Ź Coordinate with the FOH staff to ensure smooth operations during events,
including staffing, product availability, and customer inquiries.
â—Ź Monitor event feedback and reviews, making improvements based on
customer suggestions to enhance future events.
4. Budgeting and Reporting:
â—Ź Develop event budgets and monitor expenses to ensure cost-effective
event planning.
â—Ź Create F&B and experiential packages for each demographic of clients,
ensuring flexibility within target margins and percentages for each event.
â—Ź Track event metrics and generate post-event reports, including
attendance, revenue, and customer feedback during WIP meetings.
â—Ź Analyze event data to measure the success of each event and identify
areas for improvement.
Qualifications and Skills:
â—Ź Previous experience in event planning, preferably in the food and beverage
industry or hospitality sector.
â—Ź Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with strong attention to detail.
â—Ź Effective communication and interpersonal skills (public speaking) to work
collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
â—Ź Creative mindset with the ability to develop unique event concepts and
experiences.
â—Ź Familiarity with marketing techniques and event promotion strategies.
â—Ź Proficiency in using event management software and online registration
platforms, i.e. not limited to Revel and Microsoft Excel, and online 3rd party
platforms such as Seek Sophie, Weeloy, Pelago, Klook etc.
â—Ź Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to changing
circumstances.
â—Ź Knowledge and appreciation of gin and spirits is highly desirable.
