• As the deputy of Investment Management GM in APAC region, review the strategy and profitability of investment projects being studied by APAC HQ and Business Division, and improve the quality of the projects, thereby contributing to the sound expansion of investment projects in APAC region.
• Promote post-merger integration (PMI), value enhancement, and the development of an efficient monitoring system for portfolio companies in APAC region, in cooperation with business divisions and corporate divisions of regional HQ and offices in each country in APAC, as well as with portfolio companies.
• Plan and formulate measures to improve the quality of the business portfolio of regional HQ based on investment criteria of global HQ, the investment policy of regional HQ, the business strategy of each business division, and the policy of the GM of Investment Management.
• As the deputy of Investment Management GM, contribute to the enhancement of consolidated earnings by coordinating autonomously from the perspective of both HQ investment management members and APAC corporate members.
• Examine regional investment proposals from the perspectives of strategy, profitability, feasibility, and risk management, and report to executives of global HQ and regional HQ, as well as provide guidance and support to the proposing divisions.
• Determine the appropriate process for internal applications that require prior internal approval, including investments, in accordance with internal regulations, and promote the process for setting up workflow systems for obtaining approvals.

• If a company deviates downward from its business plan, assist in the recovery of its business performance. For example, visit investee companies in India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, etc., visualize the problems, formulate actions to solve them, and promote the actions together with the management of the investee companies.
• Check the effectiveness of internal controls in subsidiaries and affiliates and make improvements as necessary.
• Provide appropriate advice to business division based on both strategies of global HQ and regional HQ.
• More than 15 years of experience in business investment, M&A, Post Merger Integration (PMI), and business turnaround in Japan, Europe, US and Asian countries. Possesses sophisticated financial analysis and modeling skills, accurate documentation and proposal preparation skills, and strong negotiation and communication skills.
• High familiarity with accounting and corporate finance in Japan, Europe, US and Asian countries.
• Experience in investment risk management and support operations, and experience in secondment to an affiliated company as CFO or director

Job Description

The candidate will work at the Coastal Protection and Flood Resilience Institute (CFI) Singapore at the National University of Singapore (NUS) for day-to-day operations, human resource, finance and procurement.

The role will be responsible for day-to-day management of administration and oversee programmatic operations, working closely with the Director (Operations) and Director (Research).

The candidate will be the key go-to person for both strategic and operational administrative tasks, functioning as a liaison between CFI Singapore and NUS stakeholders in setting up and managing critical frameworks and initiatives aligned to support the Institute’s vision, objectives and day-to-day operations.
The position requires excellent interpersonal and writing skills, a high level of organization, diplomacy, creativity, focus, ability to work under tight deadlines, and familiarity with institutional and research environments.
The successful candidate will cover the following roles:

ADMIN

• Manage and direct the admin team to understand and support the CFI Singapore’s finance operational processes and interface with NUS CDE and other central offices.
