Responsibilities
1) Analyze, and collaborate with Engineering teams on implementation of data architecture that ensures enterprise data is stored securely and managed effectively, including maintenance of data models, data dictionaries, and data lineage documentation
2) Implement data governance solutions using APIs, automation, and other technologies (e.g. Generative AI) in collaboration with IT, Data Engineering and IAM teams, to improve efficiency and accuracy in data governance processes, enforcement of data access controls, data retention and security measures to protect sensitive data
3) Implement and facilitate aggregation of data quality metrics in data profiling tools, reports and dashboards to ensure data accuracy and consistency
4) Develop, review and roll out regular data protection training and awareness programmes to equip Bank staff to protect personal data and prevent data breaches (frequency will be affected)
5) Explore the use of technology (e.g. generative AI, Privacy Enhancing Tech) to support DP management and business use cases/data sharing in compliance with DP requirements
6) Implement training and awareness initiatives for staff on data privacy and governance.
7) Implement the bank’s data protection management programme and processes, including compliance reviews and data protection risk and impact assessments to identify, assess, mitigate and monitor the bank’s data privacy risks.
8) Support the implementation of the bank’s data privacy management systems and software tools to effectively oversee and monitor the management of the bank’s personal data, including consent management and data privacy risks and impact assessments.
9) Facilitate and respond to data privacy related enquiries, complaints and data subject withdrawal, access and correction requests.
10) Support the implementation of the bank’s data breach incident management plan and participate as key member of the bank’s data breach response team.
The Must Haves:
- 0-2 years of relevant experience and strong understanding of data privacy protection, in-house legal or professional consultancy services, preferably in the banking, financial services or digital services sector in Singapore and the region; and/or 0-2 years of data governance experience, preferably involved in the implementation of data governance activities and processes in a large organization.
- Able to understand complex business and technical requirements of data, and manage the technical implementation of data privacy management systems and software tools.
- Must have sound understanding and hands-on technical experience in data management, including metadata, data access and data quality management.
- Familiar with Big Data components & Data Warehousing concepts, preferably in SnowFlake.
- Good knowledge of banking systems and reporting.
- Good understanding of privacy laws and regulations, especially in the area of PII handling within a big data environment.
- Good understanding of financial laws around the Banking Acts and other related regulations.
- Possess excellent project management, writing, communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- A self-starter, able to work independently and in teams.
- Able to work under tight deadlines.
- Possess strong ability to assess risks and adopt practical approaches to effectively balance business with compliance requirements.
