Job Purpose

Our sales engineering organization is looking for a dynamic senior manager to lead a team of highly skilled sales engineers across ASEAN. This strategic role focuses on customer engagement, partner collaboration, and driving business outcomes. As the leader of this talented team, you’ll work closely with sales leadership and channel partners to understand customer needs, navigate complex sales cycles, deliver value-based solutions, and close deals.

Reporting to the Senior Director of APJ Sales Engineering, you’ll play a pivotal role in building, developing, and managing a high-impact field engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and Develop a High-Performing Team

• Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of Sales Engineers who are experts in product evaluation, technical demonstrations, and solution design.
• Drive Strategic Sales Success - Partner with regional sales leadership to achieve quota and growth targets, ensuring strategic customer relationships are built and nurtured.
• Shape Sales Strategy - Provide insights on market trends, product challenges, and competitive gaps. Represent your team’s needs and feedback to executive leadership.
• Solve Complex Problems - Distil technical challenges into clear, actionable solutions while collaborating with sales, partners, and customers to craft winning strategies.

Foster Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Build strong partnerships with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Services to align on solution delivery and innovation.
• Be a Hands-On Leader
• Act as a player/coach, actively participating in customer engagements, delivering persuasive presentations, and modelling best practices for your team.

What You Will Bring

• 10+ years of pre-sales experience, including 4+ years of management experience in hiring, developing, and retaining top talent.
• Proven cybersecurity expertise, including endpoint/server protection, firewalls, threat management, incident response, and cloud security.
• Technical fluency with modern data technologies such as DevOps tooling, containers, orchestration tools, and version control systems.
• Exceptional presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to technical and C-level audiences.
• Strong business acumen, connecting customer needs to value-driven Sophos solutions and services.
• A bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field—or equivalent experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

As a Technical Sales Engineer, you’ll use your technical know-how to help our clients find the best solutions for their dust collection needs. You’ll be the bridge between our products and the customers, making sure they get the right equipment and support. Key Responsibilities:

· Generate new business by promoting and selling industrial dust collection systems.

· To undertake preliminary design, technical review, prepare quotation and sell industrial air filtration machines and equipment.

· Provide technical support to customers, helping them choose the right products.

· Prepare and present quotes and proposals.

· Work with the engineering and operations teams to deliver tailored solutions.

· Build and maintain relationships with new and existing clients.

· Stay informed about industry trends and competitor products.

· Attend client meetings and site visits when necessary.

· Resolve any issues to ensure customer satisfaction.

Salary Package: Basic + Commission + Allowances

Working hours: Mon-Fri, 08:00 - 17:30

Requirements

· Diploma Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related field.

· 2-3 years of experience in technical sales

· Strong communication and negotiation skills.

· Able to work independently and manage the entire sales process.

· Possess own transport (transport allowance provided)

The Job Role:

• Manage the full cycle of a business development process to ensure business goals are achieved

Responsibility:

1. Develop a pipeline of new business by prospecting for new clients by networking, cold callings, researching, identifying, and meeting potential customers to grow, maintain, and leverage your network.

2. Hunter for new accounts.

3. Manage customers’ daily RFQs by processing quotes promptly and accurately.

4. Responsible for customer/supplier FCST demand and backlog management.

5. Develop new & potential business to strengthen the existing client base.

6. Proactively call assigned accounts to solicit new business and build strong relationships with all personnel with buying influence in the customers’ organization.

7. Working with appropriate internal departments, coordinating and resolving operational issues for assigned customers.

8. Use CRM tools to document all customer opportunities and activities.

9. Formulate a yearly business plan, monthly forecasting, and market analysis to submit to management and Headquarters.

10.Keep abreast of competitor activities and market data.

CRITERIA

1. Candidate must possess at least Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic) or equivalent.

2. At least 1 year or above of sales experience in Semiconductor / Electronics components with the Asia Pacific will be an advantage.

3. Good knowledge and understanding of the Semiconductor/Electronics component market.

4. Possess a positive attitude, highly motivated, resourceful, and efficient.

5. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast pace environment.

6. Fluent in Bilingual is preferable.

7. Proficient in MS Office applications.

8. Some overseas traveling may be required.

Sales Support:
