As a Research Geophysicist in the GEO TP Research team, you will be reporting to the Research Manager. In this role, you will contribute to a variety of research activities in line with the business needs such as developing, testing, improving, and validating algorithms/modules/methods with predefined geophysical content.

Job Overview

• Develop a program or prototype with predefined geophysical content and specifications
• Participate in the geophysical validation of prototype with the Imaging team
• Understand internal requirements by building close relationships with the Imaging team
• Prepare technical articles and carry out technical presentations for clients
• Support the innovation process to deploy patent policy
• Develop knowledge by reading academic publications, attending technical presentations, workshops, conferences, and seminars
• Participate in the innovation process for deploying patent policy
• Stay abreast of technology advancements to develop and improve research activities for Business Units and Clients

About the Team

The Global Product & RD team is building up core TikTok products to ensure TikTok continues healthy growth, deliver the best product experience to all of our users, build the most attractive features to help users enjoy their time on TikTok, earn trust in privacy protection, and more. This is a full-time hybrid role, working 3 days per week in our Singapore office.

Responsibilities

1. Consult with business leaders to translate business strategies and objectives into an HR roadmap; garner support and identity ownership for that roadmap; establish regular meeting cadence to advise/inform leaders of progress and further transparency throughout the organization

2. Coach leaders on people-related matters including talent assessment, development, and succession; organization effectiveness, and high-performing team dynamics

3. Proactively manages and resolves complex employee relations issues and legal risk; ensure manager and employee compliance with company policies and procedures, and governmental regulations, partner with the legal department to support investigations as needed

4. Provide guidance and assist in the implementation of business restructures, workforce planning, and headcount modeling

5. Enhance employee development & management throughout the year by providing coaching, mentoring, and timely feedback; execute a goal-setting agenda with 360 performance evaluations and oversee the formal performance review and calibrations process

6. Measure and monitor trends and the impact of key HR metrics and dashboards to drive HR needs planning

7. Leverage the COEs (HR Centers of Excellence) to develop and implement programs that foster employee engagement, D&I, and org development

Qualifications:

1. Undergraduate degree in Human Resources Management, I/O Psychology, Industrial Labor Relations, Business Management, or a related field

2. 5 + years as a Human Resources Business Partner and at least 8+ years of experience in Human Resources as a generalist, business partner, or human capital consultant

3. Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and communicate effectively across all levels of an organization

4. Solid business acumen and the executional know-how of building and growing businesses through the ongoing development and support of its people

5. Successful track record of leading strategic people programs to support business growth

6. Comfort with ambiguity; strong judgment and ability to make thoughtful decisions leveraging data and insights.

7. Experience managing others is preferred, but not required

The Growth team plays a core role in acquisition, activation, and retention of billions of users, through our globally popular products such as TikTok, Resso, CapCut, Helo, etc. We are building platform foundation, leveraging data and ML models, and providing end-to-end solutions to power global growth of ByteDance products. Typical Growth projects including referral, notifications, paid ads, etc.

You will:

- Develop comprehensive product metrics and quantitative measurement structure based on product stages and business purposes.

- Prototype analysis pipelines to provide insights, and provide quick responses to business inquiries and events;

- Conduct routine and non-routine end-to-end analyses with large, complex data sets, and make recommendations on appropriate solutions;

- Cooperate with PM / Ops team / R&D, promote the implementation of optimization scheme, and bring about the actual improvement and growth of the business.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or above in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field

- 5+ years of working experience in Data Science, algorithmic engineering, or machine learning

- Proficient in SQL/Hive/Python or R, experienced in massive data manipulation, machine learning & modeling

- Strong technical leadership combined with hands-on data mining and machine learning application experience

- Solid technical & knowledge of A/B testing methodologies, can consistently explore and find the best practice

- Insightful data sense and rigorous logical mindset, capable of providing systematic approaches to solve business problems;

- Quickly familiar with and starting a new business; Can lead a small project team to support business

- Demonstrated leadership and self-direction. Willingness to both teach others and learn new techniques

- Have a strong ability to work under pressure, have the courage to overcome difficulties, and accept challenges.
