Our team at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) is looking at generative AI models for music. You will be joining our Audio, Music, and AI (AMAAI) Lab supervised by Prof. Dorien Herremans. At our lab, we aim to advance the state-of-the-art in AI for music and audio. You will be working on advancing the Mustango text-to-music model.

Ideal skillset:

• Strong knowledge of deep neural networks in PyTorch
• Interest in machine learning for audio
• Experience in NLP and computer vision
• Experience in Music Information Retrieval, ideally AI music generation and or audio transcription
• Interest or experience in music generation systems or audio classification systems
• Savvy programmer in PyTorch
• Creative problem solver with good academic writing skills

An ideal candidate should have a strong background in machine learning, familiarity in NLP and audio computing, PhD in Computer Science and related areas, and willing to work with PhD students in the lab to leverage individual efforts into a combined system.

MISSION

The teacher's main mission is to provide students with knowledge, skills and attitudes in order to develop skills in the subject.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Description

SIA has multiple positions for senior data scientists to drive our AI, data science and business analytics initiatives.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Member of an in-house AI and data science development team that works on AI (including areas in generative AI, autonomous agent, NLP, computer vision and recommender system), mathematical optimization, game theory, and experimental design.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to create impactful and intelligent features/services in AI, data science and data analytics. Propose and build scalable ML/DL solutions. Deploy them as API microservices for use by software applications and business users for faster and more effective decision making.
• Oversee the technical work of external technology partners and provide them datasets to deliver products/services in AI and data science. Support business users in the assessment/ validation of partner-supplied prediction models and in their deployment to production cloud.
• Work closely with application development teams to operationalize and integrate AI/ML capabilities in API microservices.
• Note: You could be posted to any subsidiary in SIA Group.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or related discipline is required. PhD and MS degrees related to machine learning and other AI disciplines are preferred.
• Intermediate programming skills in Python. Conversant with algorithm design/analysis, data structure and SQL. Familiarity with functional/object-oriented software development using modern programming languages such as Scala, TypeScript/JavaScript, Java and C# is a plus.
• Exposure in the use of workflow/map-reduce and stream processing systems such as Spark and Kafka for big-data processing.
• 2 or more years of relevant industry experience as a hands-on data scientist/AI engineer in shallow and deep learning (you should be very familiar with most topics covered in the free undergraduate textbook by Gareth James, “An Introduction to Statistical Learning – with Applications in Python”, 2023). Additional exposure in some of the following areas is a plus:

1. Use of recent proprietary/open-source LLMs through prompt engineering (such as OpenAI ChatGPT and Bing Chat). Familiarity with LLM application/data frameworks (such as LlamaIndex and LangChain).
   
2. Experience of using GPU-accelerated deep learning frameworks (such as PyTorch and TensorFlow).
   
3. Familiarity with Bayesian statistics/inference and Bayesian/causal networks for probabilistic reasoning.
   

• Some hands-on experience of AWS, Azure, GCP or other public cloud environment.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills for working with both technical staff and non-technical business users.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum/Kanban methodologies is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Undertake research in the field of realistic 3D deep learning, with a primary focus on pioneering algorithms and methodologies with language-guided 3D scene understanding.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead project as a Subject Matter Expert, design, plan and deploy the right functional technical solution accordance with the specification and service levels of business and/or system requirements include multi-region routing across regional DC’s Cisco SDWAN controller and Internet Gateway disaster recovery.
• Design, implement and migration of solutions involving, but not limited to, SDWAN, WAN, LAN, WLAN, SASE, Security and Virtual (e.g., SDN, NFV) technologies.
• QoS Architect to ensure application level of quality of service with strong knowledge of ITIL framework.
• Support major incidents or changes when there is escalation from operation team, working with the related stakeholders and takes corrective/preventive actions.
• Work with respective countries team members on the review of network architecture and design, troubleshooting, as well as to work on network and security infrastructure domain.
• Provide network architecture reviews, assessments and recommend remediation/enhancement to improve operational efficiency and compliant to existing IT policies and governance.
• Prepare and present technical documentations. Ensure that the technical settings comply with company policy and regulatory requirements and work with stakeholders to align infrastructure direction.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or closely related qualifications
• Min. 10 years of working experience in network design, implementation and managing large network security platform.
• Min. 3 years of working experience as Technical Lead related to SASE, Cisco SDWAN solution design and implementation in large scale projects.
• Industrial professional certification such as CCIE, CCNP is preferred.
• In-depth technical experience and proficiency in deploying network system(s) implementation for large enterprise, data center routing switching environments and network micro-segmentation.
• Hands-on experience in implementation and setup of high-availability, multi-layer datacenter networks.
• Must have working knowledge and implementation experience of Cisco SDWAN and SASE solution.
• Must have working knowledge and implementation experience of Cisco Router and Switches (ASR, ISR, Nexus, Catalyst)
• In-depth hands-on experience of advance IP routing and switching technologies, particularly BGP, EIGRP, SDWAN, OSPF, PBR, QOS, ECMP, VRRP, VPC and VXLAN
• Proficient with Cisco Systems, F5, Checkpoint, Fortinet or equivalent
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting to engineering and C-level executives.
• Prior working experience as an IT professional in banking or financial institution is an advantage.
