[Your Role]

As a Primary Science Teacher at The Pique Lab, you will be involved in:

1. Class & Learning Management – You will manage classes (online & onsite) effectively with a holistic understanding of your students’ learning needs and motivations
2. Lesson Preparation & Delivery – You’ll prepare for your lessons in accordance to our curriculum. In particular, you’ll devise ways to simplify Science concepts and highlight common misconceptions.
3. Publishing – You’ll share your knowledge by writing articles and producing videos, so that your students can continue to learn from you outside of the classroom.
4. Communication – You’ll communicate with parents on their children’s learning progress and make appropriate recommendations on how to improve further.

Rigorous training is provided during your first 9 months at The Pique Lab, which is aimed at increasing your confidence and expertise as a Primary Science Teacher.

You will start your career with us by undergoing the Teaching Associate Programme where you'll learn plenty of valuable teaching skills:

• Content Mastery: Solidify your fundamentals in the Primary Science syllabus by learning key concepts & examination question types. Understand how to apply a variety of answering techniques to tackle questions effectively.
• Attention Control: Discover how to make your lessons come alive, such that your students never get bored of them. Dive deep into delivery technicals such as coherency, clarity, tempo, gestures, expression and humour.
• Class Control: Pick up effective classroom management strategies, so that you're able to maintain a fun, yet disciplined teaching approach with your students.
• Performance Management: Learn how to use cues effectively to instil a stronger sense of confidence in your students & help them develop a stronger affinity for Science.
• Communicating With Parents: Understand how to communicate with parents, such that they are supportive and appreciative of your work.

After you've achieved mastery in your fundamentals, you can look forward to explore various career pathways (Specialist Track & Management Track) where we'll work closely with you to spearhead projects or manage teams.

Required:

• Strong Background in Science: You should have a strong understanding in the subject matter - not just at the university level, but at a primary/secondary level, and hence be able to simplify complex Science concepts.
• Prior Teaching Experience: You should have some experience in teaching, not strictly limited to Science - be it commercial experience (e.g. teaching in MOE schools, tuition centres or private 1-1 classes) OR volunteering experience (e.g. coaching kids in after-school care centres).

2. There are no part-time teaching positions due to the amount of resources required to groom teachers to excellence.

All Teaching Apprentice Interns will receive first-hand experience in classroom teaching, via structured mentorship and curriculum-centric learning. If you enjoy being creative, you will also get to delve into content creation and storyboard for The Pique Lab’s teaching materials.

• Content Mastery: Proclaim mastery over key Science concepts and curriculum. You will gain a firm understanding of how to tackle examination question types, and apply a variety of answering techniques effectively.
• Attention Control: Discover how to make your lessons come alive. You will get to develop skills in content delivery and engagement, by looking at coherence and cohesion, clarity, pace, expressions, and humour.
• Class Control: Pick up effective classroom management strategies to effectively conduct classes, online & onsite. As a Teaching Apprentice Intern, you will get to observe and develop a holistic understanding of your students’ learning needs and motivations, so as to foster a fun, yet disciplined learning environment.
• Performance Management: Learn strategies that can empower students to think analytically, and instil a stronger sense of confidence and ownership over their learning journey.
• Experiment Creation & Publishing - At The Pique Lab, we want to give you the stage to work your magic. By the end of your internship, you’ll get to:

1. Design and create experiments in accordance with the Science curriculum. What we look out for is how you can digest difficult concepts and infuse fun through experiments to motivate students to learn.
2. Write and publish educational articles across our digital learning platforms, with the guided mentorship of our academic/curriculum team.

• Organisation and documenting of new and current recipes into a system that is easily utilised by the culinary operations team, ensuring SOPs, recipes are followed
• Conducting training and development of recipes to current and new staff under Chef Partner’s concepts
• Support the Chef Partner in planning and manage activities with the Marketing department relating to overseas events that the Chef Partner is engaged in
