▪ Operate an up to date, efficient, remotely accessible, online system of monitoring the storage of chemicals, equipment and materials used in the laboratories.

The Science Laboratory Technician will:

▪ Have a complete CLEAPSS Hazcards reference for all chemicals in the prep room

▪ Ensure written Science Laboratory Technician specific Risk Assessments are in place for all equipment, apparatus and materials (as necessary) prior to their use, and writing and preparing the risk assessments as necessary.

▪ Provide CLEAPSS Hazcards every time a chemical is used in class

▪ Comply with all Health and Safety standards and regulations issued by Stamford and external agencies including NAE, IGCSE, IBO, CIS, and WASC

Preparation of practical materials for classes

The Science Laboratory Technician will:

▪ The system in place shall allow the laboratory technician ample time to prepare the materials required for a class. If special consumable purchases need to be made, teachers should allow a week, or arrange purchases themselves.

▪ Teachers can expect labs to be prepared on time if two days notice is given. Labs will be cleaned from classrooms on the day that they are noted as completed.

▪ It is not the lab technicianʼs responsibility to plan lab activities for classes. Lab activities should be planned as an integral part of a unit and designed to achieve specific learning outcomes.

• Drive the annual budget and forecast exercises by coordinating all movements of budget, ensuring timely submission of budgets to central teams.

The Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT), National University of Singapore is looking for researchers and engineers to develop next generation quantum computers based on trapped ions. There are multiple positions available at different levels with a diverse set of expertise. This program is funded under the National Quantum Processor Initiative, a flagship program under the National Quantum Office Singapore. The aim of the program is to develop a full stack quantum processor based on Yb-Ba ions. This program brings together the unique capabilities of the existing ion trap groups in CQT expertizing on these two-ion species to explore scalability of the system.

The Centre for Quantum Technologies is a pioneering quantum centre in the world offering a diverse research culture at the intersection of three different fields namely, theoretical, experimental Physics and computer science. The team members will work to build hardware for the next generation of the ion trap quantum processor.
