The Role

Institute of Operations Research and Analytics (IORA) at National University of Singapore (NUS) offers an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Research Fellow to work on and manage analytics projects with our industry partners. The projects aim to develop new analytics tools utilizing unique datasets and research and experimental development on machine learning techniques.

Your project management and technical skills are the foundation of this role as you will be working within multidisciplinary and international project team of leading researchers. As an important and integral member of our research team, you will be managing some of our industry projects and working closely with faculty members, research scientists, and PhD students. We are seeking a talented and ambitious candidate to join our team in developing next-generation quantum sensors. The project focuses on creating a mesoscopic-scale "artificial atom" through superconducting levitation of a ferromagnetic particle. This levitated, freely precessing particle represents a system of correlated spins, capable of rapidly averaging quantum uncertainty. By leveraging this system, we aim to develop quantum sensors with sensitivities surpassing the standard quantum limits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Development of high-performance sources to generate squeezed light.
• Characterizing the squeezed light.
• Modeling the dynamics of the levitated particle
• Microfabrication of the particle, silicon pocket, and superconducting materials
• Develop a hybrid motion tracking system integrating SQUID technology with squeezed light techniques.

A*STAR Infectious Diseases Labs (A*STAR ID Labs) is seeking for a Scientist to join us in our mission to be a leading centre of infectious diseases research. A*STAR ID Labs aims to develop a cohesive A*STAR response to drive and deliver translational infectious diseases research to better health and economic outcomes.

The candidate will be joining the Antimicrobial Chemical Biology Lab, a newly established group in A*STAR ID Labs focusing on the development of synthetic antimicrobial compounds for potential therapeutic application against infection.

Research projects will encompass various tasks such as:

• Chemical synthesis
• In vitro antimicrobial activity testing
• Understanding mechanisms of action
• In vivo efficacy evaluation.

Job duties and responsibilities :

• Oversee and manage all Singapore Chinese Health Study genetic data hosted on GIS RAPTOR platform.
• Coordinate data extractions and data transfer for the Singapore Chinese Health Study.
• Manage design, develop, verification and validation activities for appropriate genetic data storage and analysis.
• Execute large-scale genetic evaluations for ageing biomarkers and age-related traits and outcomes with the Singapore Chinese Health Study dataset.

Duties and Responsibilities - Process Integration

• Plan the integration flow with device designers
• Draft the runsheet by translating the flow into process steps and capturing necessary shortloops
• Perform the DoE with process module teams
• Track the lot and report the progress
• Identify failure modes/root causes and address the problems by proposing changes

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Microelectronics, Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
• A basic understanding of the semiconductor processes is preferred.

We are seeking passionate scientists who wish to develop innovative methods in the metagenomic assembly field. Our lab is focused on leveraging new technologies to better study microbial populations and their impact on human health. In this context, our lab has extensive experience in metagenomic analysis and has developed several widely used tools in this field. We?re now focusing on new methods to obtain a comprehensive catalogue of complete genomes at the strain level from metagenomic samples, which can be further leveraged for comparative genomic analysis.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a highly interdisciplinary environment, with unique access to next-generation sequencing technologies and a wide range of samples. Solutions developed during this project will have direct applications to ongoing and new microbiome research projects in the lab, particularly in studying antimicrobial resistance and skin diseases.
