The lab of Computational Transcriptomics at the Genome Institute of Singapore (led by Dr Jonathan Göke) is offering a position for a postdoctoral fellow to develop methods for analyzing long read transcriptomics data. The successful candidate will lead software and methods development to analyze RNA modifications from nanopore direct RNA-Seq data. The candidate is expected to develop new supervised and unsupervised approaches using statistics and machine learning, and to apply them to clinical samples. Data science is an important component of biomedical and translational research, where data of multiple modalities are being constantly generated at unprecedented scale. Data science is an important component of biomedical and translational research, where data of multiple modalities are being constantly generated at unprecedented scale. The Research Data Integration group in the Biomedical Datahub Division of the Bioinformatics Institute (BII), A*STAR, aims to bridge the complexity of computational biology and data science with the needs of biologists and clinicians to drive biological discoveries and predict translational outcomes.
