The Global Centre for Asian Women’s Health (GloW) aims to build a global research platform for transdisciplinary endeavours to address major health concerns over a woman's lifespan and across generations. Purpose of the role

The project coordinator/manager will play a key role in dietary intervention studies by actively managing and coordinating diet and lifestyle intervention studies in GloW. This research is critical for advancing OECT-based circuits in bioelectronics, wearable electronics, and artificial neuromorphic electronics (e.g., optoelectronic synapses). A postdoctoral researcher is sought to contribute to this cutting-edge research, which lies at the intersection of organic semiconductors, materials science, and electrochemistry. The successful candidate will engage in the synthesis of channel-layer materials, the investigation of photoresponsive mechanisms and interfacial electrochemical processes, as well as the development of flexible organic optoelectronic synapses for applications in physiological signal monitoring and related fields.

Qualifications / Discipline:

Qualifications

Education: Ph.D. in Molecular Microbiology, Microbial Ecology, or a closely related field, with a strong emphasis on phage research.

Technical Expertise:

• Hands-on experience in phage research, including phenotypic analysis, sequencing, and genomic studies.
• Proficiency in molecular microbiology techniques, such as DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, cloning, and bacterial culture.

Research Skills:

• Familiarity with experimental evolution studies and genomic taxonomy.

Project Overview

The AMR IRG is an interdisciplinary community of biologists, engineers, and clinicians from MIT and Singapore, sharing a state-of-the art research facility and united by a commitment to providing a supportive intellectual environment where students and staff can learn, grow, and contribute to solving a pressing societal problem.

The objective of this project is to advance the field of RNA analysis by developing and implementing innovative analytical tools. These tools will be used in a comprehensive study of all forms of RNA -- the ribonucleome -- and the >170 RNA modifications -- the epitranscriptome -- in disease pathobiology, host-pathogen interactions, biomarker development, and therapeutic target discovery.

Responsibilities

The Research Engineer will plan and conduct experiments with the aim of studying the roles of RNA modifications in human immunue diseases. The candidate will work primarily on cell culture, RNA isolation, and chromatography-coupled mass spectrometry analysis. As part of this work, the candidate will prepare results for publication, be a liasion with the AMR IRG community, work with external collaborators, and develop strong experimental and communication skills.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in biochemistry, molecular & cell biology, bioengineering, chemical engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in cell culture, RNA extraction, high-performance liquid chromatography or mass spectrometry are prefered. Strong proficiency in oral and written communication in English. Ability to work well with others and as part of a team.

• Leading the design and fabrication of superconducting qubits that resist to moderate magnetic fields
• Spearheading the development and fabrication of chips that combine superconducting circuits and integrated photonics
• Exploring novel fabrication methods to couple rare-earth ions in solid-state with integrated optics and superconducting circuits
• Measuring quantum correlations between microwave photons at cryogenic temperature and telecom photons at room temperature

Qualifications
