Project Overview

The AMR IRG is an interdisciplinary community of biologists, engineers, and clinicians from MIT and Singapore, sharing a state-of-the art research facility and united by a commitment to providing a supportive intellectual environment where students and staff can learn, grow, and contribute to solving a pressing societal problem.

The objective of this project is to advance the field of RNA analysis by developing and implementing innovative analytical tools. These tools will be used in a comprehensive study of all forms of RNA -- the ribonucleome -- and the >170 RNA modifications -- the epitranscriptome -- in disease pathobiology, host-pathogen interactions, biomarker development, and therapeutic target discovery.

Responsibilities

The Research Engineer will plan and conduct experiments with the aim of studying the roles of RNA modifications in human immunue diseases. The candidate will work primarily on cell culture, RNA isolation, and chromatography-coupled mass spectrometry analysis. As part of this work, the candidate will prepare results for publication, be a liasion with the AMR IRG community, work with external collaborators, and develop strong experimental and communication skills.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in biochemistry, molecular & cell biology, bioengineering, chemical engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in cell culture, RNA extraction, high-performance liquid chromatography or mass spectrometry are prefered. Strong proficiency in oral and written communication in English. Ability to work well with others and as part of a team.

Research Fellow

We are seeking to recruit a Postdoctoral Fellow (Research Fellow). A person with background in molecular biology, cell culture, imaging and data analysis (including modelling and python programming) and has theoretical background on actin are encouraged to apply.

Job Description

Qualifications

Postdoc applicants should have proven research experience and have a strong interest in quantum technologies. Job Description

Research Fellow position is open in the research group of Assistant Professor Zhao Lin, at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS).

The Research Fellow will work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) on theories and applications of learning-based control. The project will investigate and develop both deep reinforcement learning algorithms and conventional robust adaptive control methods, to develop safety-critical learning-based control algorithms that leverage the advantages of both model-based and model-free methods. In particular, the developed algorithms will be demonstrated through robust control of drones.

The initial appointment duration is 12 months, which can then be extended based on an evaluation at the end of the initial appointment.

The candidates will be responsible for conducting theoretical research and algorithm development. The candidates are expected to help the PI supervise junior PhD students as well.

• Assist in the planning and execution of Singapore Airshow exhibition and hosting of Singapore Aerospace Technology Leadership Forum
• Facilitate the conceptualization and development of follow-on research initiatives beyond SAP
• Work with inter-division or inter-agency teams to drive aerospace industry development, develop industry transformation maps and aerospace roadmaps
• Coordinate industry engagement activities such as company visits to A*STAR and Airshow meetings and manage follow-up actions
• Nurture industry accounts to deepen research activities with A*STAR
• Engage Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) to jointly develop research ecosystem aerospace capabilities

Job Requirements

• Bachelor of Engineering, preferably in the field of aerospace or aeronautical
• 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in aerospace MRO or R&D and/or project management roles
• Strong communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong planning and analytical skills
• Result-oriented, resourceful and attentive to details
• Familiarity with the Singapore research ecosystem and grant call process will be an advantage

Job Description

This position focuses on the deep learning inspired understanding of the responses of slopes to extreme draught-heavy rainfall climate. The selected Research Fellow is required to:

• Investigate the coupled multi-phase responses of slopes.
• Unveil the responses of slopes under periodic extreme drought-heavy rainfall.

Job Requirements

• Possess a PhD degree with related job experience.
• Having physical modelling experience.
• Good at coupled multi-physics modelling.
• Good written and spoken communication and able to present results.
• Open to fixed-term contract.
